  1. Probably because he pisses all over our current manager in every managerial department. Plus he has a genuine love for the club, which aside from Sir Bobby, nobody has really since Joe Harvey, maybe I'm being harsh on Willie McFaul there mind.
  2. He is the best all round striker the UK has produced in my lifetime without a doubt. Shearer that is.
  3. Unfortunately the inept manager has been stifling them. Hope he can raise his game significantly come the new season.
  4. I can remember us losing at home to Holland 2-0, in the late 1970s, and Don Revie picked 5 players who normally played centre back for their clubs. That was an example of Englandmanageritis, where a competent club manager's judgement and composure starts to unravel under the pressure of the national job. Jan Peters with a double if I remember rightly.
  5. Remember when Graham Turnip dropped Gazza at his peak, before knee ligaments injury for Gordon fucking Cowans. And the midfield artistry Turnip created by pairing Geoff Thomas and Carlton Palmer ffs.
  6. I think the side Sir Bobby put out against the Soviets in 1984 is the worst I've seen . We lost 2-0 , which flattered us desperately. And the central midfield pairing of Steve Hunt and John Gregory were unsurprisingly found wanting. Ron Greenwood selected some decidedly shite sides too. Steve Foster ffs.
  7. He has a humongous boil on his right hip though.
  8. Isn't he from Manchester? Salford. Salford is a city too you know. See Salford and Manchester as Siamese twins. Only Manchester has the brains, the heart, the lungs, the kidneys, and the liver. And Salford has the thing Manchester is probably most famous for.
  9. Those saying KK wasn't a good manager are wrong, each job he took save the England one, he left the club in a significantly better position when he left.
  10. Fair to say Bellamy's strengths lay in assists rather than finishing. Bellamy really should have been more respectful to Shearer who obviously was in a different league to him as far as forwards go. Though I guess Shearer being a supposed Souness favourite and confidante caused that pathetic text. The main reason Coventry City were relegated prior to us buying Bellamy incidentally, was Gordon Strachan using Bellamy as a centre forward for most of the season, by which time it was apparent that Bellamy couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo, such were the amount of one on ones and excellent chances that he squandered.
  11. The best English manager of the Premiership era imo.
  12. Lord knows where we'd be without Kevin Keegan and Sir John Hall.
  13. I'd go back to World War 2 in East End London, I'd frequent a pub and on the piano there play a bunch of classic post war songs and pass therm off as my own. Then I'd cop off with the landlady, marry her and put her up the duff.

    Alan Pardew

Spot on. Only thing we can do really. Good start to the season and we know Pardew is capable of sustaining a positive atmosphere and promoting team spirit when things are going well. I'd far rather we had a bad start and he got sacked tbh. My view is that a competent manager is crucial to long term progress. Backing someone who relies on wonder goals and bullshit is going to hurt us in the end. I'm afraid as much as I loathe Pardew, wanting a bad start is wanting Newcastle to lose. Think about that. You want the team you support to lose. I'm afraid that concept is totally alien to me and always will be.

Affordable football to me, means cheap and nasty , like we've had for the Pardew era. Unfortunately Ashley doesn't seem to realise he has bought players that don't fit the maxim. More fool him.

So far we've been able to predict Pardew and how he will do by looking at his career. Starts ok/well drifts into a shitstorm before getting sacked....well we're sailing freehand now as nobody has been deranged enough to let him carry on after the shite before.

    Alan Pardew

I think all you can take from it is that Man U fans were more justified in calling for his head. They had Howard Kendall waiting in the wings, a proven manager of high quality and had given Fergie millions to spend on the likes of Hughes, Ince, Pallister, Webb and Wallace. He broke the club record transfer fee twice in that time. EDIT: And that even great managers blame injuries... They won the FA Cup within a year of signing them lot except Webb who came a little earlier. From 86 to 89 was the barren period. The investment into the others was Taggart's last chance. So incomparable to Pardew totally. Edit: I don't recall them struggling against relegation during this time either.

Was that from day one though? It seems Di Canio has gone in there with all guns blazing, spouting off in the media to anyone who'll listen, which is probably the biggest mistake I think... making all this public. Yes, he famously got rid of the best central defender I've seen due to his drinking , very early in his Manchester United career. Big difference between a drinking problem which will likely be affecting not only performances on the pitch but other squad members too and not signing some club tat. If anything McGrath performed better after leaving though.

If I was Mike Ashley, at this supposed meeting, with Pardew seated in front of me, I'd say," hands up who is the second longest serving manager in the Premiership.........not so fast Shitdrew ! "
  21. Yeah but his account is private now. I'm off to the bookies to bet on Pardew getting a 16 year contract.
  22. If he was that good why didn't he succeed at Liverpool? It's not like they were overloaded with strikers until they bought Sturridge this season. He wasn't given the chance to as far as I see. Toward the end of last season, he looked as if he was regaining some form, then they offed Dogleash.
  23. Sad that some people don't think Carroll is a genuinely good player. He would improve our attacking potency ten fold irrespective of who the manager is.
  24. Manchester United were always big spenders, even before Taggart, Atkinson and Sexton spent heavily as did Ferguson . The reason they were able to is down to Sir Matt Busby and his teams success . He was the one that created the Manchester United brand.
