  1. It's actually to our detriment that Murphy played so well with Isak, otherwise he would've been peddled ages ago in the manner of Longstaff, for just being clearly way below the level we need. Fair play to how he's bust a gut to make himself useful to the club though, I respect him for that. But he can't really play for us for much longer. Kind of similar to how Miggy and Wilson played the best football of their career and convinced us not to bin them at the time we should have.
  2. I'm obviously massively attached to SJP but it's not really for anything specific about the design or the actual building. And it's really not for the atmosphere either, which is up and down but I can't see how moving would make it worse. It's just because of the amount of times I've been and how it feels like home. Think this is a once in several lifetimes opportunity to build something immense. But it does have to be immense.
  3. Would've expected higher. When I tell fans of other clubs our prices they usually say they're cheaper than they pay. Especially London. Not that it's really an important point on the atmosphere.
  4. Wissa's been injured all season, I think Ramsey was always intended as an opportunist move for a different profile of player to add to our options. Only Elanga has been a bad signing at the moment.
  5. Surely we're not charging the same as those London clubs you mention? I thought they were commonly £100+.
  6. Yeah, I actually like Blaydon Races before the game because everyone can sing it, but I don't get why he lets the lyrics start again just before KO. No understanding of the dynamics of the situation at all.
  7. He can't even see which way the ball is going. And it doesn't even come off the lad's foot, it comes off half way up his shin. If he moved he would've been purely guessing.
  8. He's probably one of the most technically gifted players in the league TBF, and he's also fairly physical when he wants to be.
  9. Such a weird guy, seems to have loads of talent but just can't be arsed to impact the game half the time. Doesn't seem to enjoy the game.
  10. I don't think any keeper would've saved it, he couldn't see. The punch was the mistake.
  11. I used to go in any turnstile that had a small queue as the tickets opened any one. But last time I tried it didn’t scan, so not sure if that still works. The signs and labelling of the access points and sections once inside the ground is appalling though.
  12. Even if demand slackens they'll never bring the prices down. I just don't think it works like that in football. 65k would be ridiculously small IMO, and a waste of time. May as well just stay as we are.
  13. Always hard to tell if he sent the keeper or the keeper just guessed wrong. As you say, it wasn't anywhere near the corner so I suppose you have to assume the former. I was really worried about the reaction if he'd missed.
  14. Crap, only sizes for the more svelte gentleman left.
  15. Training with Wissa will probably help him as well. Wissa himself has made the transition from more all-round player to expert fox in the box.
  16. He really tries to close people down as well, he doesn't just jog around.
  17. TBH I would've thought all our wide men apart from Murphy are more like wide forwards than traditional assisters, so they would work better with Woltemade setting them up than just trying to create chances for others. You want both of course.
  18. Relatively balanced? Our team includes usually Botman, Thiaw, Bruno, Tonali and Woltemade who came from abroad. That’s roughly half. Anyway, it doesn’t really matter, we only bring it up when the signings aren’t doing as well as we want. If a winger came from Europe and struggled we would need a different narrative.
  19. It could just be about not being able to keep the ball away from opponents who are chasing a game. We can’t keep possession for long periods and we prefer to pack the defence, which is normally very well organised. But it does give opponents an opportunity to have attacks towards the end of games.
  20. I don’t know how people can still push this line when we literally just signed two Germans. Unless every signing comes from abroad, we’re obsessed with PL players?
  21. Same, it was overall more positive than negative for sure. Also I accepted a draw when they scored their first so it doesn't feel so much like a defeat. We should've battered them though, which is a shame.
  22. Wasn't sure what he was doing when we had the ball, was standing in a half space right up against the defence but nobody was ever going to get the ball to him.
  23. The kid is on another level, he's unbelievable.
