  1. Training with Wissa will probably help him as well. Wissa himself has made the transition from more all-round player to expert fox in the box.
  2. He really tries to close people down as well, he doesn't just jog around.
  3. TBH I would've thought all our wide men apart from Murphy are more like wide forwards than traditional assisters, so they would work better with Woltemade setting them up than just trying to create chances for others. You want both of course.
  4. Relatively balanced? Our team includes usually Botman, Thiaw, Bruno, Tonali and Woltemade who came from abroad. That’s roughly half. Anyway, it doesn’t really matter, we only bring it up when the signings aren’t doing as well as we want. If a winger came from Europe and struggled we would need a different narrative.
  5. It could just be about not being able to keep the ball away from opponents who are chasing a game. We can’t keep possession for long periods and we prefer to pack the defence, which is normally very well organised. But it does give opponents an opportunity to have attacks towards the end of games.
  6. I don’t know how people can still push this line when we literally just signed two Germans. Unless every signing comes from abroad, we’re obsessed with PL players?
  7. Same, it was overall more positive than negative for sure. Also I accepted a draw when they scored their first so it doesn't feel so much like a defeat. We should've battered them though, which is a shame.
  8. Wasn't sure what he was doing when we had the ball, was standing in a half space right up against the defence but nobody was ever going to get the ball to him.
  9. The kid is on another level, he's unbelievable.
  10. Liked his celebration a lot, seemed to be letting out a lot of emotions there.
  11. Not sure he did much wrong for the goal, the punch was a hard one and he couldn't see the ball for overhead kick. Nothing that Pope wouldn't also do anyway.
  12. He's always going to give the ball away a few times, the things he's trying to do are just low percentage plays a lot of the time. Chris Wood can pop the ball 20 yards back to where it came from with ease, I don't want Chris Wood.
  13. Thought him and Gordon were fine to good when they came on. Was actually pleased Woltemade was left on up front as well.
  14. Nice to know it's physically possible for Dan Burn to be fouled.
  15. TBH I think people always get overly negative about anyone who’s injured.
  16. Van Dijk and injuries I’d guess.
  17. I just don't see all these times he's played badly. The team was playing shite and he got exposed a couple of times, that's it. There's no reason at all to reassess his level IMO, he's an elite CB. If he's asking for unreasonable wages etc, fair enough, but that's a different question to whether he's class at football.
  18. He might like the look of someone else's bench.
  19. That's more a stylistic preference though, rather than who is the best manager or coach. Pep's style (or his early style) requires incredibly detailed work and he's reinvented football a couple of times over, especially reinventing successful teams. Entertainment sure, if you prefer Klopp's style then that's fine. Personally I love grinding people down with excessive possession
  20. Well obviously it's debatable, there's never going to be a clear best manager ever
  21. Pep's probably the best manager ever, never mind in the PL now. Of course he has had great assets, but the best managers tend to get picked by the top clubs.
  22. This is my feeling, but I'm still confident in at least half my brain.
  23. Surprised to hear that, but fair enough.
