  1. Does that mean two of each though, since we play two CBs?
  2. It was nothing like Balotelli's, but he did lash out. Stupid thing to do, I just hope the FA decide it isn't serious enough to follow up on.
  3. What's more frustrating is when a bloke with the incredible talent that he has, can't take the game by the scruff of the neck against a very average championship team. It's games like that I want him to step up and show what he can do. Dunno, does football really work like that? Brighton aren't that bad a side, and any well-organised and motivated football team can make it difficult for better teams to play. And HBA was also handicapped by the presence of Shola and Best ahead of him. I know he didn't have a great game, but I'm not sure what you're expecting him to do. The whole team failed to overcome Brighton.
  4. TBF, he looked unstoppable before we sold him. I wouldn't have him back here though, he's finished with us. Either he'll come good for Liverpool next season or he'll end up making a £10m move to Stoke in a couple of years.
  5. Beggars believe that any website linked to a semi-reputable real-world organisation would bother wasting type on any story involving Ba and Carroll. The idea that we would let a striker that has never stopped scoring for us go to Liverpool in exchange for one that we "forced out" and has since been worse than terrible is beyond lazy journalism. I know sports writers, especially those that work for Mirror Football, are complete mongs, but even for them it's appalling stuff.
  6. The decision to play a high line isn't really to do with our personnel though is it? It's more to do with the opposition strikers. I mean, even the best CBs in the world would struggle when playing high up the pitch with little protection and Long/Andy Johnson/Odemwingie running in behind them. If they were that fast they wouldn't be centre halves.
  7. I've never really got the sense that Simpson wasn't committed to the cause, actually I always thought the opposite. Haven't seen this twitter stuff like.
  8. He's paid me back with two assists in the last two weeks since I replaced Ba with him in my fantasy league team. Was gambling on him scoring some goals, but looks like Ba will come back before he has a chance. Bold selection I know.
  9. Don't really want Samba now he has shown his attitude to be so bad, but I guess I would change my mind if we actually signed him!

    Alan Pardew

I don't think any players and managers do though really, not many anyway. They're just interested in how they're doing in the present, and probably rightly so TBH.
  11. I know it's a bit of a lame thing to say, but can't help but think we would have mullered Fulham and Brighton if Tiote and the boys from Senegal had been available. Simple fact is that Best and Shola do not make a dangerous forward line an do not allow the midfield to shine.
  12. From what I saw he dominated (the admittedly Championship) defenders today and nodded a lot of decent stuff down in the box. It's just that him and Best/HBA were far too far apart. Not sure whether that was because of tactics or just poor play. Not saying he was great, but he was decent today I thought.
  13. We're always going to struggle scoring goals when we're this immobile and blunt in attack. Shola and Best just don't make a threatening strike force, and our midfield often don't threaten enough either.
  14. He simply has itchy armpits. [/Dalglish]
  15. Agreed. It's about time at least one of the twins started getting by on more than just their looks. Are you sure you're not thinking of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen?
  16. I would much rather not play Man Utd, but at the same time I just hope Liverpool fail in the worst possible way this season. Just hate them.
  17. Insane that Evra is getting abuse, what are these people thinking? Also, they were saying on TalkSport yesterday that Evra should be left out to diffuse the situation - I nearly threw the radio out the window. Unbelievable.
  18. As long as we get a decent price it seems a solid signing. 3 CBs isn't enough. Still would like one of very high quality to challenge Saylor eventually.

    Papiss Cissé

If Ba starts against Blackburn then I don't see why Cisse couldn't play a part. 20 mins at the end if it's going well.

Always rated Davies quite highly throughout his time in the Premier League, think he's underrated by a lot of people. Don't see the point of Sunderland signing him now mind, surely they won't.
  21. Isn't that more likely to be the fact they knew they were going to be offski, so wanted a bit more special adulation? Not sure, possibly. It just seemed odd to me that they weren't close with the rest of the players.
  22. Being in a squad with Joey must be a nightmare for most players. It was telling for me at the end of the season when Barton and Nolan did the lap of honour at SJP miles behind everyone else in the squad.
