  1. I'm excited about seeing more of Marveaux, but the reason for it is a real shame.
  2. Fucking James Milner, Fucking Gareth Barry and fucking Scott Parker. Yawn.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

How long is the long run?
  4. Sorry for him, at least it has cropped up when we have fit replacements available and an international break coming up. Will be good to see Marveaux or HBA anyway, wonder if we coud deploy Ba and HBA either side of Best in a 4-3-3 type thing?
  5. Can't see us buying someone for £6m+ from a Premiership rival. He's good mind.
  6. Players who are young, cheap-ish and good always tend to fit in somewhere. I can only see him as a striker for us really, but I'm not sure how he enjoys or is suited to that role. He is quality though, no doubt.
  7. My mackem school friend was insisting we were going to get relegated even until a few weeks ago. He's normally quite sensible as well.
  8. I actually get pretty annoyed with the idea that I shouldn't be offended by racism just because I'm a honky.
  9. Obertan did more than enough against Stoke to prevent him being dropped IMO. We might have two or three better players on the bench than the ones on the pitch, but their time will come. We have to keep the morale up by rewarding those players who have got us to third in the league.
  10. I actually thought he was a striker when I first saw him, but he seems to play wide for Blackburn now. If we could deploy him off Ba he might be very useful. I thought he was English for some reason, only just found out he was Canadian.
  11. He would be mad to sign for Blackburn again, much better clubs could use him IMO. I would like to see him here, although we're already quite well off for midfielders.
  12. Agreed. Yeah, it was a great finish. The position on the pitch made it look easy, but it was a really nice cushioned header in exactly the spot the keeper couldn't get to.
  13. I'm fairly confident we could lose all three of the Chelsea and Manchester games without too much damage to the morale. Obviously a different matter if we get bummed 7-0 a couple of times, but otherwise I think Pardew will keep it in perspective and we would bounce back quickly.
  14. Would love to go on a night out with the Ameobis, it would be amazing. Or just pop round Shola's for a cup of tea and see his light-up coffee table and hat collection.
  15. They can't even do that really, the season is long.

    Alan Pardew

For the first time in my life I actually want England to be managed by Harry Redknapp.
  17. Sammy is class, his real twitter account is second only to Shola's fake one.
  18. Same, I've been arguing this for ages. My only doubt is that there are clubs out there who can make Carroll-esque offers which are hard to turn down for any club. That's just football though.
  19. Technically he won the ball, but it was a bit dangerous. Slightly silly that the Stoke player did almost the same movement and got away without anything mind, but that seems to be how it always works.

Spot on, the motivation element of signings, and in this case the manager, is generally massively underestimated in football. A Tier 2 player who will work his arse of to succeed is much better value than a Tier 1 player who has already 'made it'.
  21. Yeah i thought so too. He did, but his studs were lower. It was just a question of how many degrees of elevation = no offence vs a booking vs a red card really. Without having seen it again since(or sober for that matter) was there a chance Perch's higher studs were a result of seeing the two footed challenge coming in? Memory is a bit hazy how fast it happened tbh Not sure TBH, I doubt it. In realtime it looked like a genuine 50/50, which it probably was. The fact that Perch's feet made contact in the way they did was probably just pure chance.
  22. How is it doing the players a disservice? They all played brilliantly, everyone admits that. Just the gameplan also deserves credit.
  23. Only joking, I just refuse to entertain the idea we'd sell Cabaye.

    Alan Pardew

A lot of people thought Hughton was a 'yes man' when appointed IIRC, not that it matters now. I honestly don't care if Pardew knew Ashley or Llambias before he got the job - Hughton didn't deserve the sack but whether or not the new man was selected before or after is basically irrelevant to me.
