Low scoring week for most people I reckon. Why wasn't Clichy playing for City, he was good against Swansea?
-
a striker is essential mate or it's gonna be a frustrating season. Yeah, I know a striker is important, I just meant less so than a LB. I still think we could finish in a decent position with the forwards we have, but watching it might not be that great.

He had to mention Shorey.

L'Equipe: Modibo Maiga fails medical; transfer 'abandoned'

Disappointed we're going about the deal like this, if true. Most clubs probably do it, but still. -
Always thought we were in for a decent season, certainly nowhere near battling relegation. A lot depends on the next couple of signings, or lack of them. LB essential and striker would be great, especially if it takes HBA a while to get back. Optimistic as always, but nervous at the same time.

Wow. He's generally a sensible fan as well, guess the derby makes mongs of us all. Thought I'd texted Wullie by mistake for a minute. (Only joking bro)
-
That tackle by Bardsley was rank, doesn't bear thinking about if he'd HBAed him.
-
This made me genuinely lol for some reason!
-
I think he's intelligent enough to learn to use his attributes better for us. Let's not forget he hasn't played regular football for ages and has come into two of the toughest games of the season. Prepared to give a lot more time to improve.
-
Just to say, I texted my mackem mate to ask how the game was, and he said "not being biased here, but Newcastle are shit and a great bet to be relegated this season". I didn't reply, or ask him what that meant about Sunderland.

Reading this thread from page one is bizarre. It's like an alternate universe.
-
Because you believe in you philosophy and system, and that becomes almost more important than winning trophies.
-
Well before christmas I reckon.
-
In what way? Well he's reconstructed the whole club from top to bottom with emphasis on youth, and developing players to play the Arsenal way. I just mean I can see why he's reluctant to admit that it isn't going to work this time around and go out and bring in half a team.
-
If Wenger went out and bought those players and won the league though, wouldn't that prove that everything he's been doing at Arsenal is basically pointless?

ah ma, i daren't even ask - what are you saying then? Just that Pardew did change the game from the bench by introducing Obertan, that was the debate we were having. -

Don't think anyone is saying Shola is better than Ba. -

L'Equipe: Modibo Maiga fails medical; transfer 'abandoned'

wow, amazing - he's clearly not even lying here here really changed shit up against arsenal twat He did though, he brought on Obertan and he played well and nearly set up the winner for Cabaye. Doesn't particularly inspire me that the way he changed it was to bin his own new star striker and Carroll replacement after 45 minutes for being shite. the arsenal point wasn't about the change he made, it was about the change he didn't make sad that needs explaining really It isn't about who he brought off, why should that matter? He recognised that the 4-4-2 wasn't working and the strikers were isolated, so he brought one of them off and added Obertan to link the attacks a bit more. Maybe he should have brought Shola off, I would have done, but he made a good change FFS. I don't know what you mean about the "change he didn't make", sorry. shola was the change he didn't make, nothing untoward - i prefer giving yourself a chance to win in football, just me mind Can you not just respond without the heavy sarcasm? It's borderline at best whether Ba or Shola coming off would give us the best chance to win. I've already said I would have brought Shola off, but to pretend it's clear cut is stupid. -

Fair enough, I was just responding to the point that he couldn't change the game from the bench, something that he clearly did do. -
