  1. As long as someone comes in before the end of the window, I'm not bothered if it's before the derby either. It would be better if it was, but it's not the main thing. They've had 8 months to prepare and complete these deals Ian, the bullshit has to stop and they need somebody in before Saturday. The manager is a dead man walking if we lose that match, and rightly so imo, he has overseen a shambles of a summer. I don't disagree, but the important thing for me is signing a good LB in this transfer window... when in the window isn't so important to me. As I said though, would be ideal to have it done before the next game. As for the manager being a dead man walking, this isn't really the thread for that debate but that statement seems ludicrous to me before the second game of the season and drawing with Arsenal. Also, Ashley will never fire him so soon so it's a moot point.
  2. Why is everyone suddenly taking about Tiote going? He's staying for life man.
  3. Raul turned down a move to Blackburn apparently, those guys crack me up.

  5. If we sign any level of quality at LB I'll be ecstatic, don't mind if it's a whitey or a blacky.
  6. Just my opinion. Scared of being seen as weak and influenced by a home crowd so gives 50/50's to the away side. Not that arsed if you agree or not if I'm being perfectly honest. No offence. None taken!
  7. So what time to we need him in by, and is there any chance?
  8. I'm pretty sure no thought like "I have to favour the away side so I won't be seen as a homer" ever crosses his mind TBH.
  9. Surely all clubs would tell Lee Ryder nothing, I doubt it means nothing is happening.
  10. For some reason I don't hate Man City, even though I probably should.
  11. Have to say I love lower league football as well, Maidenhead Utd used to be magic when I live there. Still like the big stage of the Premier League as well though.
  12. Not like you to be doom and gloom wullie!
  13. That run to disposses Sagna was incredible, he might not have HBA's acceleration but when he gets going he's electric. Hope that cameo means he'll play a big part this season. His first touch looked very good as well.
  14. I said during the game I would definitely have taken Shola off instead. Didn't think Ba did much, but then we hardly had the ball during the period he was on the pitch.
  15. Always felt sorry for him, imagine what he would have achieved with better fitness. Very possible he'd be playing for Man Utd or someone now and have 40 or 50 England caps.
  16. He had a very poor game IMO, but he's just returned from a extended holiday after all. And Arsenal can bypass pretty much any midfield, it's defences that give them trouble!

    Leon Best

Thought he showed a bit of something today, he's very good in the air as well. At the moment I would put him ahead of Shola.
  18. Got a feeling we would have lost today if he hadn't been playing. I'm not a mad Joey fan and I think his outbursts are idiotic, but you can't deny he gives another dimension to our team.
  19. Nothing to judge him on today really, absolutely no service and then subbed early. Still confident he'll do quite well for us.

    Ryan Taylor

He was awful for the first two thirds of the game IMO, but did a couple of better things near the end. Criminal that Arsenal didn't score after getting past him so many times. Still, he was against a very tricky player in Gervinho, isn't left sided and isn't really a fullback either. So all in all not too down on the lad after that.
  21. Was very surprised we lined up 442, but maybe it was to stop our CF getting too isolated. As you say, we should look better with a couple of players to make us more fluid. And we won't play Arsenal every week either.
  22. :pow:I was in L4 and didn't hear a peep from any of our fans for maybe 80% of the game, was embarrassing at times. Tried to start a couple of songs but it was clearly out of the question.
  23. Arsenal an impossibly hard game to start the season and bed in new players, and without a LB as well. Thought the first half was terrible, second a bit better. The atmosphere was awful, hated sitting not in L7. Seemed everyone was really nervous, and the team didn't give them much to cheer about. Obertan looked pacey and enthusiastic, Best showed more than Ba and Shola it seemed. Overall just pleased to get some points against a very tough team.
  24. Still don't have my ticket after buying it when they first went on sale. Queuing up at the box office now to see what's going on.
