Mentally scared from the years of poor decisions and the same boardroom schmucks still making decisions?
Fair enough, but the bad decisions count against the schmucks but the good ones never go in their favour. I always worry about another potential fuck-up around the corner, but every day-to-day decision hasn't been wrong.
I really don't see how so many positive transfer moves have led to so much extra pessimism. If we hadn't signed anyone yet people might be worrying less, it's bizarre.
I just think it's far better to give him a chance to move on from this and have a normal life. Sacking him just doubles his punishment and might lead to far more problems in his life than he really deserves.
The courts have handed out their punishment - seems like what Hearts are doing is more for convenience and to appease outsiders than for any reasons of justice or worries about his future conduct.
Depends on the circumstances for me. Quite a big can of worms that one!
Well exactly, but I don't see how being a footballer should be something this lad is excluded from. Especially not for what he's done.
Don't agree about Harper, Perch and Gutierrez, those are just random assumptions.
If all of these departures and none of the arrivals happen then I'll be worried. Until then I'm happy with our work in the transfer window so far.
Footballers should be professional enough not to throw their toys out the pram over some new signings.
Would have been interesting to see if he would have been sacked if that charity hadn't kicked up a stink.
Broader question - should anyone on the sex offenders register by employed at all?
Nolan gone. Barton, Smith, Enrique, Ranger, Guthrie and Routledge going. Gutierrez being told he can leave. Three new foreign players who have effectively been brought in as replacements...
So Nolan gone then.
If you or me would be sacked by our employer, does that make it right though? Personally I'd rather give someone a chance to learn from their mistakes.
I'm reluctant to say he should be sacked. Should anyone on the sex offenders register be unemployable? Surely that just punishes them twice and makes the situation worse.
I don't know the details of the case, but obviously he hasn't sexually abused anyone. What he's done is dodgy obviously but I think once he's been punished by the courts he should be allowed to try and learn from it and move on.
