Just to reiterate, that article is absolute garbage. Even he doesn't seem to know what point he's making. It's clear that the amount of column inches, bandwidth and broadcast time available now far outstrips the ability of publishers to fill it with anything decent.

Sturridge would seem to be an amazing signing, at £10m or even 15 it has to be good value. He's shown what he can do in the Premier League, and will be keen for first-team football. Chelsea should just play him, but I guess they'll buy another couple of overpriced superstars and he'll still be well down the pecking order.

I think it's theoretically possible that an agent might be a good person, but most of the stories you here seem to be the opposite. I don't have a problem with players trying to get what's best for them really, but it's up to clubs to not allow themselves to be messed about or treated with contempt. In Mike Ashley's favour, I think he'll be one of those people who won't be taken for a ride.

Absolute liability. Arsenal fans I know prefer Gibbs to Clichy now. Same, but they also say he's always injured.

Not too bad, I did think he was mismanaged by Kinnear and the signing of Duff, but he also said some things that weren't advisable IIRC. I certainly didn't think he would become as good a player as he has in this league.
