  1. The underlying truth is that we can't afford to lose any of our first team and very few of our squad. It's going to be hard enough buying the players we need to add without buying replacements for people we lose. That said, obviously individual cases like this will crop up where the club's strategy and valuation don't match the player/agent's needs and/or greed.

    Season Tickets

Simply refers to the 'reports' and our concern at them. At worst it'll prompt the club to respond and clarify. Not really, at worst it will make you seem even more anti-NUFC and make them even more reluctant to take you seriously. Personally I would just avoid attacks on the club like that, but fair play for doing something.
  3. Yeah. Let's buy non-league players as they probably 'manage' themselves and don't have any agents. You can do better than that.

    Season Tickets

It depends what they mean by them "not being allowed to move". If they mean no season tickets at all will be sold there, then that seems strange. Surely they can't fill that whole section with parties. If they mean that anyone who was in L7 will be explicitly banned from buying their new ticket in L4, that's just madness.
  5. With Park and Valencia playing and Rooney dropping into midfield Man Utd have half a chance. Really hope Barca destroy them though.

    Season Tickets

I don't really understand this, can't people choose to sit wherever season tickets are on sale? (I agree not having a singing section is a bad idea mind)
  7. True, so was Damien Duff IIRC.
  8. City's purchases will be based on whether they can get anyone who is better than what they have now. If so, they'll happily buy IMO.
  9. Just got my printed copy of Issue One, looks and feels quality but I haven't started reading it yet. Actually has an interview with Dennis Bergkamp where he talks about that Dabizas goal.
  10. Valencia is absolute class IMO, good signing by Fergie.
  11. Does McKay look after any of our other players? If so, they are the ones we should be looking to get rid of ASAP!
  12. I think you're pretty much right, I guess he also realised there was no chance of him getting in the team, and that would have affected his effort and morale. Turned out to be a pointless signing, but if Taylor hadn't recovered and Williamson had got injured it could have been different for him.
  13. Really strange one this... can't see any reason that Joey would want to go, or very many feasible destinations for him. And I also don't understand why the club wouldn't want to keep him. None of it really makes sense, except maybe through the lens of McKay agitating for 'one last big move' for his client. Will be interesting to see how this plays out, certainly hope we keep him.
  14. The way Pardew sets us up and, going on his past and the players we're being linked with, where he's going to take us, Barton is becoming steadily more obsolete, though. I think it's a mistake and a shame as when Joey had a good game he played in a great system and I loved the games that came out of them, but there you go... As a player, he doesn't fit nearly so well nowadays. Isn't Barton essential to Pardew's way of playing? It's presumably because of that that our only genuine wide player (Routledge) was let go.
  15. I don't think you need to worry about Ashley's response, we know it will be to tell him to fuck off. That's Ashley's new way, unless a player actually wants to leave they are wasting their time with this sort of thing now Big Mike is in charge. Not that that's always positive, obviously we could end up losing players we would rather keep.
  16. Thing is, it seems Ashley doesn't bluff. He will offer a player what he things they're worth and what NUFC can afford, and if they don't agree to it he'll happily let them go IMO. Not that I think Barton will leave, it's just agent fluff.
  17. It doesn't seem to make any sense Joey leaving to go somewhere else for the sake of a slightly longer contract. He seems happy, settled for the first time in his career, very important to a team that could be on the up with the right signings. Unless he wants to move abroad (which I doubt) NUFC seems a perfect place for him to be. Probably just his agent being a cunt as usual.
  18. If i knew that we couldn't express our opinion in your forum, i would never sign... I only wanted to warn you that it will be very complicated for Newcastle to sign those players, but as we say in french 'l'espoir fait vivre'. Something to do with hope making life? My French is poor.
  19. He's addicted to Championship Manager, hasn't left his bedroom for 6 months. Allegedly.
  20. I like these signings, it's good to know that the club are even aware of these players - makes us look almost like a professional outfit.
  21. The Tiote and Ben Arfa connection is what's giving me an unreasonable level of hope about these deals. Fully prepared for them both to sign for someone else like, there are just as many reasons why they won't come here.
  22. Also, Wigan's "project" is to continually battle with relegation and just avoid it on the last day of the season. Not exactly tough for Zoggy to improve on that.
  23. An early move is exactly what we need to show intention, attract other players and get the stragglers to sign their contracts. Would be fantastic if we could tie this up early in the window. I've decided I'm not going to be cynical about this transfer window, I'm just going to enjoy the ride of crazy links and raised expectations.
  24. Every fan I've spoken to outside this forum thinks Defoe is class and would be a brilliant signing... including a lot of Newcastle fans.
  25. Ready made violence against children or paedophilia headlines there. Do your thing News of the World.
