Not for long he won't. A player like Owen only belongs in a team within a s*** league that will create loads of chances. His days in England are done. I'm not sure, I can see him being similar to Kevin Nolan in that he's essentially useless without the ball, can't really run but can read the game well enough to pop up in the right places. Either way, it probably won't happen as he'll never agree to play for a smaller club.

Yeah you're right TT, they obviously go after the low-hanging fruit rather than the actual copyright infringers (YouTube) - and they approach the hosts rather than the site owners since they have little interest in challenging the threats.
-
Think of him as an Ivorian Sammy Ameobi. Very encouraging if it's getting as far as Pardew agreeing to meet the player.

I can't even select the appropriate smiley for this.

He can still finish, he just needs to get over his ego and move to Wigan or somewhere where he'll get 90mins every week until he gets injured.

I know what you mean mate, it always seems crazy to me that YouTube can get away with hosting large amounts of copyrighted material and making advertising money off it while people who just link to it can be threatened with action. But at the same time this is a brilliant forum and if the people in charge believe this is a step worth taking to protect it then I don't think it's a great loss. I imagine it would never get to the forum being shut down, but I can see why they don't want to take the risk.

Reckon I might buy it for the first time ever.

I'm as confused as owt, how can he play for Eire if he is British? Anybody born in Northern Ireland can play for either team for some batshit reason. Doesn't make sens that like They're 2 totally seperate countries. It's like saying anyone born in Belguim can also play for France if they so wish. Not quite, there are quite a lot of people in Northern Ireland who consider it one country!

Ranger has to get regular football, these 10 minute spells spent chasing long balls and lost causes are no good for his development at all. You're right though, we need to send him to the right environment, somewhere he'll be looked after while guided down the right path.
-
LuaLua is a tough one, I'd like to see him get involved in the team more... and I wouldn't send him back to Brighton in case he gets too attached to them.
-
Guthrie going out would depend heavily on who comes in, if we don't buy another CM and RM then he might well be needed. I think he's still got Premier League potential, but hopefully NUFC will progress to a point where it will be with a lesser club.

Both Nolan and Barton should think themselves lucky if they get new contracts. I doubt they could better them except by going to Qatar or somewhere like that. Barton has only just started earning his money, and all indications are that Nolan will be totally immobile in about two years time.

"I can only image what he can do alongside the beast that is Shola"
-
Every Arsenal fan I've spoken to thinks he would be a great signing for someone. Not sure you would get the same response from us about Shola!

This is basically my view as well. If Mike Ashley is sticking around for better or worse, then it's in everyone's interest to have a manager who can work with him and Llambias as well as possible.
-
Well the club can't win with that, can they? If they wait until late in the window they'll be criticised even more. Could be in both clubs' interests to tie up a deal early... allow time for buying a replacement. As others have said the fee will be limited by his contract situation to a certain extent.

For some reason I'd love Gameiro here, even though I've never actually seen him play! Sounds robust, strong for his size and quick as well. Could potentially forge a good understanding with Ben Arfa.
-
I managed to wait until I got in the house actually! I did think of posting it while I was out, but resisted.
-
Just saw Ben Arfa in Floritas, didn't look like he was having a good time.

You should work for a tabloid newspaper with insights like that.

Good news. Yeah, great news Odemwingie is out. -
Very good point, although I think the parachute payment is a bit unfair on the teams in the Championship, I can see why it's needed. The different in income between the two divisions, and then again for Champions League, seems crazy. Very difficult to run a business stably when a penalty, missed offside decision or a couple of unlucky injuries could reduce you income by over half.

Don't see the problem, if he's been a good influence behind the scenes and the lads like him it'll be good for team spirit to throw him on for a few minutes. -
Thank god for that.
