I would spin it the other way, if the rest of our strike force wasn't so appalling we wouldn't be expecting a 20 year-old kid to do anything very much. I'm pretty sure he would have already been loaned out if we weren't so short up front.
-
I feel a bit sorry for him TBH, he was just looking like a player when he got injured.
-
For me, what Cesc said is very disappointing... I can't understand why the Arsenal players and fans aren't ecstatic with Wenger, he's transformed their club from top to bottom. Sure it's been a while without a trophy, but there are only so many trophies to win. If I was an Arsenal fan I would be much happier with quotes like "we believe in our philosophy, we play great football and we'll win something soon enough". Maybe a failing from Wenger that he hasn't managed to convince them enough.
-
He needs to be first choice next season IMO, and I'm sure he will be for most matches.
-
It's the weather man, he loves it in the spring. If football was a summer sport he'd be player of the year.
-
He just lives purely in footballer land it seems, no grasp on reality at all. TBF to him I don't really hate the lad, yes he got paid a lot but it's not really his fault he was injured all the time.
-
You're right, there's no way Sturridge is for sale. If he is then Abramovich is more mental than I thought.
-
TBF to the Bruce-monster, if they hadn't sold Bent out from under him they would be doing absolutely fine.
-
I can't believe football managers are so vulnerable to "expectation". Who cares what the media or the fans are expecting? Just get on with your job and you'll know if you've performed to the best of your ability.

If Tiote contains Adam we should do alright.
-
I agree, we could maybe do with another midfielder who is athletic and mobile and can play CM and RM when needed. And possibly back-up/replacement for Enrique

Best has proven himself to be a more effective striker, in my opinion. Definately Only over a very short period of time though. Ameobi was really poor last night. I struggle to see what he brings to the team. Well yeah, Shola's limitations are well known. All I'm saying is I don't think it's guaranteed that Best will overtake him. Obviously if Best continues to score like he was before his injury he will do. He also has age on his side.

Nobody will really improve that much with the sporadic appearances he's had. 15 minutes chasing long balls and battling with the centre back isn't really going to give anyone confidence or much of a chance to impress. He needs a loan or two, then we can start to see if he has the ability to make it.
-
It'll be touch and go whether Best can overturn Shola as the number two I reckon, next season anyway.
-
Oh yes we can.
-
Our defence has been the best for years this season... they all deserve mad props.
-
He could be, there are equal if not worse defenders operating in top 4 sides, especially Arsenal and Liverpool.
-
I don't think it's a problem for a striker to be a confidence player... I would rather have bursts of goals than general mediocrity. It's in the nature of the beast.
-
We've absolutely got to get one proper quality forward and another one a notch down from that IMO, it's our biggest priority in the summer.
-
Depends on how comes in obviously, but assuming we sign a couple: Keep Shola and Best Loan Ranger Let Lovenkrands go if we have enough bodies Hoping LuaLua might play a part as well, eventually.

f***ing funny though. You just know he was desperate to score tonight i thought after the reaction he got when he came on that the script was then written for him to bundle in the winner in the last minute. I was convinced he was going to score. The 5 Live commentators were going on about how the booing would motivate him. Not so accurate in hindsight!
