  1. Got half a cup of tea at Cardiff. Then when I complained the woman said "that's how much comes out when I press the button". I was livid, press it twice you mong.

    Season Tickets

Sort of off topic, but the application process for Olympics tickets was easy to navigate, fast and user friendly. NUFC could learn a bit from them.
  3. Watching that Villa game on the TV was bad enough, I pity anyone who actually went.
  4. Shola's also a better midfielder than Alan Smith TBF.
  5. Hate those articles where they just pick a player and list a load of clubs who might be looking at him. It's not journalism, it's not news.
  6. There's no reason we should concede a load of goals, especially if Carroll is out. And with their awful defence we might well nick a goal. If I had to bet I'd say a narrow 1 or 2 goal defeat, 2-1 or 3-1 maybe.
  7. Good post magpie, I genuinely think if it wasn't for the Carroll sale Ashley would be well on the way to getting back on the good side of the fans. This season, as you say, has been much better than expected.
  8. Never been away in Europe, would love a couple of trips to obscure European towns now.
  9. Chelsea in the cup this season was pretty good, most of my away trips have been defeats or bore draws so that was a surprise.
  10. He obviously has a sharp mind in one way or another, the things he does on a football pitch prove that.
  11. I'd probably just prefer the Bs to go down, as I hate Blackburn. But then again, I'd rather lose Wigan than Blackpool.
  12. You can't have it both ways Ian Ha, true, I'll just stick to Craven Cottage I suppose!
  13. He loves Newcastle Utd man, he's part of the furniture now. Bring on the testimonial IMO.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Got me Chelsea ticket and me Ben Arfa shirt washed and ironed!
  15. Same, who gives a fuck if he's gone however-many years without a trophy? That's normal in the life of a football club, he should be getting nothing but respect for what he's achieved.
  16. Slightly different though, using it as a blanket term to describe a load of people is different to singling out one person by name and chanting it at them IMO. For me, chanting directly at somebody that they are a paedophile is too far. Yeah, I would say the town full of paedos etc fits into the 'so far fetched it's not offensive' and 'just to wind up the fans' brackets, which for me is OK.
  17. I've never been to any away games in the midlands, sounds like I shouldn't bother.
  18. I've heard a few chants that are racist and I would never join in with, especially the Kenwyne Jones and Adebayor ones. That includes at St James's. It scares me the amount of people that join in with them, and IMO the pack mentality thing is no excuse at all. Peer pressure can make people do a lot of things, but they're still responsible for it and it's only through saying no to these things that we'll get rid of them. Stuff like Wenger being a paedo etc isn't in the same bracket for me, as it's so far fetched and comical that it couldn't possibly offend anyone. TBH I don't buy the excuse that the racist chants are to wind up opposition fans, IMO they're to ridicule the player personally. Or at least that is how any outsider would (quite rightly) see it.
  19. I dislike the totally soulless grounds as well now I think about it, Cardiff and Coventry spring to mind. Cardiff was a nice trip though, sunny day and got some chat from the toll booth bloke and a few local fans.
  20. Fulham games are always really bad, but the ground is nice so I wouldn't say the trips are actually bad. Fratton Park is the worst ground, absolutely shit. Luckily I only travelled from Oxford and not from Newcastle. Watford was also a terrible place to watch football... but I was kind of into the novelty of the Championship.
  21. I think Wenger's main problem is communication and conviction rather than methods. His biggest mistake is to allow the media and press to get hold of this "mentally weak" and "easy to bully" story and run with it properly. He has even admitted it himself in interviews and press conferences. What he should really be saying is that he has full confidence in his players and his methods, and he's proud of what he has achieved with the club. What he has done with Arsenal is almost miraculous IMO. Because of the length of time between trophies he is now coming under more pressure, but to call him a joke is way over the top. Maybe the type of football that Arsenal play is becoming easier to stop in the Premier League, but I still think he needs to tweak his squad and his approach rather than reinvent it.
  22. S Harper - minor knock, he's getting on a bit so they're bound to happen T Kadar - looks like a crock, but wouldn't have been involved that much anyway K Lua Lua - freak injury, but was loaned out anyway L Best - genuine injury blow D Gosling - injured when signed A Smith - genuine injury blow, but shit anyway H Ben Arfa - freak injury D Guthrie - genuine injury blow, but a softy so to be expected I don't think we can really blame our medical staff or training methods etc for many of our injuries.
  23. We just sign weak and non-athletic players.
