I guess that process is fair enough, but I want to know how they realise an incident would have been dealt with 'if seen by the match officials'. Do they routinely review the footage of every game, or do they rely on TV pundits? If the latter, then it's a joke.
-
This is the document about their processes: http://thefa.com/TheFA/~/media/Files/PDF/TheFA/DisciplinaryProcess_2006.ashx/DisciplinaryProcess_2006.pdf Haven't read it yet like!
-
Do they have a process to do that though? I didn't think they did... it all seems too random for that.
-
really? Well I know the reasons that are talked about - frightened of Fergie and chums etc etc - but I don't see why that should be the case. If anything you would think that the busybodies at the FA would be keen to assert their authority.
-
Well, we know it was a shambles already. Almost as bad as Liverpool now!
-
Nobody is excusing our players, it would just be nice to see some fairness and consistency.
-
Totally correct, I've been saying for ages that we need a weekly video panel to review every single game for diving and cheating. No idea why the FA are so reluctant to implement it. It does seem they are going on what gets most press attention at the moment.
-
It looks bad, but it could well just be random coincidence. Let's see if it continues, too soon to condemn them as indisciplined in general.

Not so long ago people were talking about him as one of England's most promising CBs. I don't think he's world class, but he's a good asset to the squad and probably as good as Williamson TBH.
-
Agreed, but it was almost like what you get told to do in Sunday league if you're facing a team you can't handle. There probably wasn't any instructions anyway, just a coincidence.
-
I see what you mean, I guess I'm thinking that deficits from transfers can be compensated for by revenue elsewhere - e.g. TV and gate receipts. I don't think we necessarily need to sell before we buy, not literally. We've already shown we're ready to spend a little bit of money if bargains are available.
-
Willicinni both getting involved in nasty incidents is a bit of a worry, I wonder whether they've been sent out with specific instructions to rough people up? Doesn't reflect well on Hughton if so.
-
I wouldn't bet on that tbh. Even if we do plan to sell him, get him in there and hope that he does well. Will get us more for him...which Ashley will then not reinvest in the club. But still... I have a theory that Ashley will feel that he has already invested the Saylor money on the squad. Saylor couldn't be sold in the summer window because he was injured but he will be unloaded in January to balance the transfer books. No capital outlay. I really think that no capital outlay means no money injected by Ashley for transfers. I don't think it means that the club always has to make a profit on transfer dealings.

He is suffering from the dropping of Routledge and the injury to Ben Arfa for sure, without those two it's back to him being marked by three defenders.
-
Yes, but he is the best striker in the world, so it's OK.

Don't employ Redknapp if you don't want to be very active in the transfer market.

The "We Won't Win Another Game This Season" Fred aka Relegation-o-meter
AyeDubbleYoo replied to Stu's topic in Football
TBH it's impossible at this stage to guess where we will get points from and where we won't - the season is mental so far. We've beaten Arsenal and been hammered by Bolton in the space of a couple of weeks. With Tiote and Barton in the side we will do OK IMO, but without them both we look shoddy. No surprise really, we knew our other midfielders were terrible. -
Williamson has proved himself to be of Premiership standard easily, there are very many worse defenders in the league.

Bolton 5 - 1 Newcastle United - 20/11/10 - post match reaction from page 32

I didn't see or listen to the match, but from the MOTD highlights it seemed the result flattered Bolton pretty seriously. Both of their pens were dubious, the second one obviously wrong, a lucky goal from Lee (who was possibly offside) and others we should hav defended quite easily. Colo needs to simplify his game against strong opponents... he can't expect to outplay every forward in the league. And we obviously miss Tiote a hell of a lot. -
This. He has potential, but not the right attitude to make it imo He always seems to work hard to me.
