No racist but Adebayo really looks like young Carlton Cole.

Jackson is terrible.

Liverpool vs. Newcastle United: 1/1/24 @ 20:00 (Sky Sports)

Seems strange given he took a year or more out of the game to educate himself and address his weaknesses. Doesn’t feel like someone who wouldn’t be thinking hard about how to solve every single problem we have. -
He quite obviously will be.

Fair enough, I'm not sure I agree that's a realistic prospect and it doesn't bother me personally, but it's a valid point of view.
-
Course it's not, I was just making a point in the normal way you would on the forum
-
Certainly one way of looking at it, but it's not really about that. It's about looking after him so he forms a bond with the club and comes back as well as possible. I'm not saying we should be praising him, of course we can make clear that he's made a mistake. But beyond that I don't see any point in making things any more uncomfortable than they need to be.
-
Jesus H, we have to keep him happy so he comes back the best he can be. I’m sure he’s absolutely gutted about it in private.
-
And can control a ball.

I think the only one to sell at the moment is Longstaff, but he won't raise much money. Anderson too but the same applies. I would personally give Willock and Joelinton another season at least because their upside is so high.
-
As much as that sounds silly, I don't really care. Just do whatever we have to do to get some reinforcements in.
-
I'd be quietly excited if we got Philips, good make a big difference in a low-key way, especially in our current form.
-
That's absolute shite, unsurprising from a certified moron and wind-up merchant.
-
Yeah, I agree Miggy isn't as good as Salah.
-
But given a good team has a lot of players playing above their 'average' level, it seems a bit odd to then sell them. And anyway, you can only turn over a limited number of players in each window, so presumably the ones that are functioning well are likely to be low on the list of people to replace. I suppose it does happen but it's a difficult one to get right. I think it's more likely that people just don't rate Miggy from pre-Howe era and so they see his weaknesses as confirmation and his good periods as a fluke.
-
Selling while stock is high is an extremely strange way to view football like, sounds a lot like selling your best players.
-
PL clubs buy the best players from European leagues all the time.
-
How do other inverted wingers in the PL generally do on stats?
-
Why are we talking about this?
-
Granted, even though I fully understand keeping Miggy. Personally I think Longstaff is a bigger weakness who Tonali was designed to replace. But even so, that would a minor decision if the rest of the squad hadn't been decimated.
-
Doesn't it look incorrect because we have a whole team of injuries and a bloke banned for gambling?
-
I'm not sure we should be putting too much faith in January, should we? Hard time to get top players to move clubs etc.
-
But everyone struggles against low blocks. After a couple of seasons of battering teams we could look to introduce more craft.
-
Said it at the time, there are different ways to improve your chances. You can either sign a couple of amazing players for the first team or increase the overall quality of the squad. TBH I think we did do a bit of both. With Tonali (and maybe Gordon) the clear upgrade and the others the bulking agents. In reality I think neither approach would have worked with the amount of absentees we’ve had.
-
But the word upgrade means he’s better?
