We stepped up a level before the cup final. I really believe a mental switch has been found and the players now think of themselves as a genuinely top team who can beat anyone. And consistently dispose of the lesser sides. We have that feel about us now, the old 'typical Newcastle' shit is over for a long time.

I think it's guaranteed that any new signing doesn't better Murphy's stats from this season, there's very little chance they could. Doesn't mean we don't need someone in, but you're right the improvement would have to come in overall play.

TBF I put my head in my hands when Eze did that penalty

Newcastle United vs. Crystal Palace: 16/04/25 @ 19:30 (Sky Sports)

I think 7:30 KO is just to see how many people they can catch out. -
If he hires Pardew we’ve got a load of stuff we can offload.
-
Southgate had an approach and it ‘nearly’ worked. I know he’s a bit corporate but I don’t have a problem with him really.
-
I think Mount’s a solid player and good with the right instructions and role. But not a mega signing that will do anything to take a failing Man Utd up a level.
-
I think you’re underestimating the potentially disastrous consequences of Mike Ashley TBH. We’re lucky that Rafa called him up and saved the day, we could easily have ended up in League One. Agree on the desperate fans stuff, but swapping one horrific owner for another isn’t an answer.

The whole thing is just delicious. I mean, we know these people talk nonsense to get callers and engagement but it's still annoying how little they know about their subject.
-
I never get that at all. Surely the people you should listen to are fans who experienced the guy for 15 years? Fair enough when he was unknown, I thought he sounded like a good owner too. It's like still giving Steve Bruce management jobs.
-
2 promotions When did he heavily invest into our stadium and infrastructure? The players were bathing in wheelie bins I could go on, it would genuinely be better to go out of business and start a phoenix club than be owned by Mike Ashley.

Adam P got into some online beef calling these people out. Nobody likes to be shown to be clueless. I should know.

Queroz as well to some extent. Fergie actually rotated his assistants well.
-
Would imagine third kit sales are always pretty tiny. Guess it's more a case of wringing out a few more percentage points from the fans.

No doubt they’re a good team, I’m just saying I prefer the shorter-term guide if we’re talking about ‘form’ specifically. It’s a hard game but winnable if we’re on it. -

Man Utd have to be piss weak TBF, it's their identity. -
I suppose he's still assistant, so I guess not. But he'd have done incredible well.

2025 is a bit of a long period for a meaningful form table IMO, over the last 6 games we've won the latest 5. Although Palace's form is also good, their draw and loss have come in their last 3 games. So we're in significantly better form. And over those games we've scored the same amount of goals but they've conceded twice as many. -
Mount for 60m is mind boggling. I guess they just think ‘we’re Man Utd so we have to buy big players for big money’ but unfortunately don’t have the ability to choose the right ones.

According to pundits you’d think McGinn is world class.

Au revoir.

Love to see Martinez making mistakes, the arrogant prick.
-
From a gambling perspective we knew he was a top player.
-
He’s been working out since he retired.

I’m sure this is a coaching instruction as well, which will apply equally to Gordon when/if he comes back in.
