League Cup Quarter Final - Chelsea (a) -19/12/23 @ 8pm (live on SkySports)

Do Chelsea care about the league cup that much? -
Had a decent week in the end, bailed out by Kudus, Bowen and Watkins captain. Also got a weird amount of clean sheets which is quite unusual these days. Bringing in Jiminez backfired mind

I put Jimenez in my FPL team recently, so I think we all have me to thank. -

Only one replay but it didn't look a red to me at all. Was it the arm that made the crucial contact? -
Almost forgot how incredible he is. Those passes.

Buffon is the one that always springs to mind for me, sexy bastard.

I reckon 9 points from the next 3 games is always the aim. -

Who says? -
Isn't it because Man Utd usually look pretty bad? Results are one thing, performances and direction of travel are another. Admittedly I don't watch them every week.

These people aren’t writing reports on events in the world, they’re writing something else entirely.
-
We didn’t bottle any of them you mad, mad bastards.
-
Could’ve been very different, gutted to finish bottom but it’ll be a relief not to have so many games to play. Newcastle back at the top table again, and it won’t be the last time.

I don't think he is at CB, I think Schar/Lascelles as we have now is a better partnership. -
The Phillips link won't go away because journalists are useless.

I think we'd be weaker if we took out Lascelles to play Burn. Rotation exists I know, before anyone hammers me. -

I'm just not that excited about having Burn back and I don't think it will help us 'that much'. It's a good point about Luton and Forest games though, I hadn't thought about the fixtures in detail. Overall I don't rate Burn particularly highly, but I do massively respect him for what he has given for the team. -

Yes, I just meant I’m not particularly looking forward to having him back in the team. Particularly think he would have been destroyed playing in the recent team with the fragmented nature of our displays. To give people a break, OK if it’s necessary, but I wouldn’t expect much of an upturn in performances. -

Wot. -
I thinking more in recent weeks where the fatigues and injuries have really been extreme.

I don’t want Burn back in at all TBH, maybe to cover LB for a game while we rest Trippier. -
The nature of the games is more important than the amount IMO, for sure. And even our PL games have been pretty difficult recently.
-
Can you really see Ramsdale being the best keeper we can identify?
-
Hate to say it but Longstaff would be demolished in these kind of games as well.

Tottenham Hotspur 4-1 Newcastle United (10/12/23)

It’s really only in the last two games we’ve looked truly knackered. Before that I don’t think there was any argument that we needed to change style, start parking the bus, play for draws and all that. We’ve just run out of road with two tough away games.
