That team is nice like, hope we'll eventually get to play something like our best 11. Would love to see us give Hull a stuffing, they are on a major downer. Also, in hyper-optimism, Nacho might come in and keep us up with 6 or 7 games of genius!
  2. I think he's arguing 'constructive dismissal', meaning he felt he was left with no option but to walk out. It would be up to the court to decide if that was reasonable, if it gets that far. Doesn't mean he didn't walk at all... I'm not saying it was 'clear cut' though.
  3. So we believe the bit about the budget being cut because of KK, but not the bit about the £30m?
  4. Very selective. There is no plan for Kinnear to get a net spend of £30 million in the summer, regardless of the outcome of Keegan's settlement, and nothing that Llambias has said points to that happening. Have you been in the boardroom meetings recently then? Funny how we tend to believe the press when it's negative and not when it says something like that.
  5. It's a fact (!) that if they have to pay KK compensation then it will have to come out of the budget... don't see how you can argue with that.
  6. The only thing baffling about those quotes is the way you've decided to highlight them. Can't see anything wrong in any of those three. By all means criticise him sensibly but that post is just bollocks I'm afraid.
  7. Truth, every business works with credit and has debts that they can service out of income. It's when they get out of control and income starts to stagnate that you have a problem. There's no way we could have gone on spending the way Shepherd was, even he would have cut back if he'd stayed. Luckily for him though, he left us in a financial mess and fucked off with a massive pay day.
  8. Fair enough, let's not waste time complaining about 'communication' then, that's all I'm saying.
  9. Are you suggesting his statement could have been "wibble" and we'd have to fall in line because he's actually learned to speak. Think it through sonna. Communication is a good thing. Previously we assumed they were fucking us over because they said nowt as we slid into obscurity. Now we know they're fucking us over because they've spouted complete bollocks, without any indication of what they plan to do to halt the downward spiral. It's a positive that we now have it confirmed they weren't just playing their cards close to their chest, and they actually have no idea what the fuck they're doing. My point was that they can't win either way, and I think your reaction to almost every statement so far suggests I'm right! There aren't only 2 ways. One way they could impress me? "We now recognise that Wise, Vetere and Kinnear have no calibre whatsoever when it comes to recruiting, training, or improving players at any stage in their career and will be installing a new management team with a proven track record." That would be a start. Sigh. Do you really expect any football club or football club owner to come out and say anything remotely approaching that? The idea is laughable, you're making yourself into the new NE5 man.

  11. So the only communication you want is Llambias saying, "yes, the fans are right, I'm shit at my job and Mike Ashley is a cunt". Think you might be waiting a while for that.
  12. Anyone know where that t-shirt Xisco is wearing is from? Looks class.
  13. I actually thought Smith might be a decent signing at the time as well!
  14. Jon Dahl Tomasson...thought he could've been immense.
  15. Agreed, except I don't think we need to remove Wise at all... he has recruited some good players, no reason why he won't continue to do so. And I wouldn't specify a 'net' spend, if we manage some sales of unwanted players then so much the better.
  16. For the memories alone, Asprilla is a legend.
  17. The fat lady must be well warm by now... she might not have the energy to sing after all this.
  18. Basically my view as well Chez, the fans have to take some blame (and I guess a large proportion of those protesters make up NUSC now), but Ashley should have had the backbone to ride it out and stick to his game plan once things settled down.
  19. Why mention it then? I won't be giving NUSC credit for the price reduction, because there's no evidence it's anything to do with them. And I will criticise the fans that caused chaos after KK left, because I don't agree with what they did.
  20. But obviously if you disagree with the current protests then that's not your opinion... I don't get it. no, you don't get it. I would protest against Ashley because he is the wrong man for the club, clueless and showing it all the time. On the other hand, if we were showing ambition, backing our managers, and showing a clear intent to keep our best players and compete with the other top clubs seeking to qualify regularly for europe, I'd be supporting him all the way. Right, that's fine but it's only your opinion. What are you criticising OzzieMandias for then? If he doesn't think the same about the two boards then why should he be expected to protest?
  21. But obviously if you disagree with the current protests then that's not your opinion... I don't get it.
  22. If I was a Villa fan I wouldn't be furious about anything, I'd be loving life!
  23. In ten years you might not remember finishing fourth, but you might well have won the Premiership following a few seasons of consistent Champions League qualification, attracting better players and increased income. That might never happen if you finish 6th or 7th. I think O'Neill has got it right, he's breaking the grip of the established top 4 and his utmost priority must be to maintain that challenge. In 10 years will anyone care about the UEFA cup anyway?
