I would like them, I'm just saying the starters we definitely need. Tonali, Bruno and Ramsey/Joe/Miley is still a good midfield. Assuming we don't continue to play as badly as we've recently, obviously.
-
The decline and improvement of players is also massively to do with confidence. That’s why momentum and positivity is so important in football. We’ve seen Jacob Murphy go from shit to England fringe and back to total shit. That’s not because there’s something about 2026 that has suddenly led to terminal malfunction of Jacob Murphy’s feet - it’s because everyone is doubting and second guessing themselves and expecting things to go wrong. See Elanga for exhibit b. I’ve said it before, everything has snowballed this season and it’s almost a perfect storm of factors impacting our performance. I try not to take it as indicative of the permanent state of affairs just because it’s most recent.
-
There are quite a few reasons like, probably the main one being he never plays there and we’ve never planned to do it.
-
I can’t see us signing a whole new front 3. Although will be interesting if Gordon goes for sure. Arguably we don’t need a starting CB either. Think the guaranteed starters we need are RB and GK, then it depends on what happens with outgoings etc. We might need to be realistic about the number of players a club can really turn over in one window. Especially given we’d be replacing him big money signings from last year.
-
He’s obviously been pap but it wasn’t as easy a chance I thought at the time. Raya also does a very good job of getting out to him quickly. Should’ve obviously tried to hit it down into the ground like the Swedish rat always does.
-
Been nice to see him turn and carry the ball a bit in the last couple of appearances. Something he did do on his highlights before he joined. Sometimes think we’re proceeding on the assumption he can’t run at all.
-
If it’s not guaranteed already, probably one draw is enough to guarantee staying up. Not that we should even be talking about this
-
Depends on the quality of the squad maybe.
-
Just play Nick with people running beyond him.

What's up with Hall? Gutting we keep losing our best players just when we need them. -
I mean, he specifically said they were good in training but didn’t perform in the matches. That was the whole point.
-
Because he’s an exciting and talented player? I’d play them both FWIW.

We could start posting it now if it helps spread the load. -
For me the most likely explanation is that we initially thought we would be able to integrate Nick more gradually as Wissa carried the load of being the main CF and goalscorer (lol). Then later in the season Howe has felt unable to move away from the pressing CF because we got increasingly desperate for results and failed to transition to higher possession. If the true answer is we didn't know Woltemade's attributes before we bought him for mega money, that is obviously very worrying. But I don't think it's the only possible explanation for how the season has gone.
-
He'd rather come and play for Eddie than be the successor to a true freak like Martinez. Nee chance, I believe in you James.
-
It's a fair point. I think Nick can press to some extent, maybe more effectively if he's not leading the line and being expected to sprint between CBs and FBs. We'll see, but I don't think we have a good enough squad to have someone that talented that we aren't using.
-
Good news on all counts if true, save money computed to Rambo, match his Man City wages and start him every game. Everyone's a winner.
-
Nick probably needs to play some games behind a pressing forward so he can receive the ball in the middle of the opposition half, drive forward, create openings while not being expected to lead the line. Osula would be fine for me for the rest of the season. But you'd have to give up a CM which I'm not sure I can see Howe doing right now. Not against Arsenal anyway.
-
It’s the right question TBH, as much as I can’t stand Ryder.
-
Yeah, it's just a line. Obviously true to some extent, if a guy looked like Messi in training he probably would be picked. But it doesn't mean much.

We’ll be slating Pope soon enough. -
Do we think Wissa would’ve flopped if he hadn’t fucked his knee just after he signed? Hard to say obviously, but would have to be considered if you were sacking people.
