Xisco looks like quite a tough player by those photos on the Depor site, what is his playing style like? Any players we'd know about he can be compared to? Looks harder with the skinhead than the headband like, needs to bring that back (i.e. do the 'reverse Bentley').

Thing is, at least two of Viduka, Owen, Martins and Ameobi are always injured at any one time. And hopefully we'll manage to offload Shola and/or Smith very shortly.

At least the window concentrates the manic speculation and press nonsense into a shorter period. Once it's over we can actually concentrate on the football. It should finish before the season starts though, so everyone has their squads sorted before kick off. Problem with that would be the different kick off dates across Europe of course.

Very strange decision again for Capello. We all thought he was going to be his own man and not just pick the same players, then he goes and picks the same players. So then we say he's the same as McLaren and he picks Jimmy Bullard, seemingly to show he's thinking for himself. Weird... Also the ommissions of Agbonlahor and Young are bizarre.

Nah, he's the same player, I just really expect him to score. Then the commentary team can say "And Newcastle could have used that yesterday!" That bit could well happen.

Bit confused about Milner vs Guthrie in the press and amongst some fans. So Guthrie, a young English player with a lot of potential, bought for a pittance, shouldn't be playing for us - but Milner, a young English player with some potential (yet had proved he has little effect on the game), sold for an absolute fortune, should have been kept and played in the first team? I don't understand.

But we haven't been doing nothing have we? We've already brought in 4 good players. We've brought in two good players and two squad players and we have let 8 players go, 3 of whom could be considered first team players.. I know it's early to judge, but I think Jonas, Colo and Guthrie and good signings and Bassong looks assured. Most of what we let go was absolute dross, we're better off without most of them. Even Milner, who was decent, was a fantastic deal if the money being talked about is right.

Some more shit being talked about Barton on 5Live this morning, basically two second rate hacks saying they thought Keegan had some 'moral fibre' and that Barton should never be in the squad, they hope the FA will 'make an example of him' etc etc. Also that if he wanted to get back into peoples' good books he shouldn't be 'flying into tackles like he did on Saturday'. I actually shouted at the radio in the car, fucking unbelievable how one-sided the argument is.

I doubt he thinks he's got 7.5 good players in the squad tbh Aye, but even so he wouldn't announce it on TV.
