I know, I only mentioned summer because it looks like we aren't going to get anyone in this window. We should have moved heaven and earth to get a decent LB. I was impressed by Warnock in the cup, he's only 25 as well (I think). I think if we have had some contact with Chelsea about Bridge, and we get him in the summer, I'll be prepared to forgive Glenn and Freddy then.

Agreed. Encouraging to see the vote is so much in his favour, he could be the sort of player the majority of fans warm to (big, physical, committed). Although he hasn't got many games to prove himself, I think he will do enough to earn a permanent deal. Would be excellent to get our centre backs sorted now so we can spend the summer bringing in fullbacks to complete the picture.

Not nearly as much as mine

Phew, my new avatar was beginning to look premature

I'm fairly pleased with this, although obviously a couple of fullbacks would have been ideal. From what I've read it seems like he's got a good attitude, and sure wor Nigel Pearson can work his magic and make him more consistent with positioning and that. It will also make a change to have some sort of physical presence. If we got him and Babel in I'd say the transfer window hadn't been a complete failure (although I know Babel is unlikely).

Did Olly write a whole article without saying 'wide of the mark'? Maybe he's getting the message!
-
I'd think that would be a good deal considering the guy's age and potential. We could always sell him on for about 8mil if he doesn't do it. Think it's worth a go, and hey, it's almost worth 4.5m just to get Luque of the payroll.

I can't blame them at all when the standard of the local press is as dire as it is. This smacks of Oliver saying, 'well they won't talk to me so I'll have a snipe at them in print'. I couldn't give a monkey's what the players say to the press. Most of Oliver's 'rumours' and stories are pure fiction anyway. Or am I wide of the mark? Also, it's typical of Oliver to identify himself as part of the club at one time (anyone see his cringe-worthy videos?) and then the fans at another.

'Course you can't understand it Nev, you utter tool 8)

I agree the conducting of this transfer window has been a disaster, but I don't think it's fair to put it all down to Roeder. Surely what is going on with takeovers etc. has bred uncertainty, and Fred is the one holding the purse strings.

Newcastle and Man City table £250,000 Braafheid bid - DENIED

You're right we can't, but it seems as good as any of our existing scouting policies. In fact, maybe we bought Luque because of PES, he's useful on that! -

Is he still good on PES6? He was the bollocks on 5. Yeah, I think he's worth a punt. Is being run close for a starting place by Carlos Rodriguez, who's actually more of a winger (but I like v attacking fullbacks!) I hadn't heard of him in real life when I bought him though, had to do a google search to find out who he was. Another tip, Ryan Babel, by the age of 26 he becomes unstoppable! (Sorry, a bit off topic there) -

He is my first choice left-back on Pro Evo, is quality after a couple of seasons improvment! Excellent getting forward and solid in defence. Not sure that has any relation to his real world ability though -
Doesn't really make sense to try to stop any players playing for their countries IMO, the effect on motivation would be serious. Best to let him build up some international experience to improve him as a player.

He is the best a man can get though... :-\

Looks like Ballack and Schev are costing Chelsea the title.

The loss of Terry, and to a (slightly) lesser extent Gallas, has been massive. If Gallas had been there now he could have slotted in at centre back to cover Terry's injury. I don't understand why Kenyon/Roman wouldn't just forget their own agendas and let Mourinho get on with the job. He was on course to win them the title again, and probably the champions league eventually. As much as I'd love to have unlimited spending power as a manager, if I wasn't allowed to employ it how I saw fit then I'd be off. I think Man Utd will have enough to see out the title this season. -
It's not even about him 'fighting for his place' either really. As long as Ashley Cole is fit he will play. Simple as that I would think. Barring some truly horrific form Bridge hasn't got a chance. So if he wants 1st team football, he has to leave.

Best Opposing Player You've seen @ St James' Park
AyeDubbleYoo replied to Minhosa's topic in Football
It was a real pleasure to see Vieira, although he didn't play that well on that occasion. -
Top player though, i'd have him here in a heartbeat. Same goes for public enemy no.1 C.Ronaldo, ie. two footed, can hurt teams on either side of the park. Whether or not footballers are 'scum, shitheads, cheats..... and the other names thrown around' is irrelevant in my book. It's all about putting out a set of footballers with ability, and getting the results. It's not about throwing on a bunch of 'good lads' with a commendable amount of ethics to match. I partly agree, but I don't think the fact they're cheaters is irrelevant. If Robben was here I would enjoy his ability, but would still be sickened by his diving antics.

Lads please, show some festive spirit!

I honestly believe that we would have gone very close to going down without Shay last season. Keeper is one of the few positions where other premiership fans must thing 'I was we had their guy'. Shay is a legend and we're lucky to have him.

Very foggy in berkshire, not sure about central London.

I think most of us would be amazed if we won any silverware, I'd nearly die of shock....

fucking spellung police

Not a very nice guy then  Good to see other fans are standing up to these people though.
