The best argument I can find for Pep is that he managed to win the PL at a canter while prioritising another competition. The way he has managed his squad has been incredible, although obviously that squad is packed full of world-class footballers. And the voting was held mainly before we had confirmed CL, like someone said above. Which is stupid in itself. Then again, Pep hasn't won the FA Cup or Champions League yet either (even though he obviously will).

I mean, it's true that people have completely wrong opinions about players, Rice and Grealish being two great examples. But I'm not convinced it has anything to do with nationality. We just see them a lot. I guess English players historically being so much more expensive has given them a higher bar to meet. Maybe. Since everyone assumes you can get someone just as good from France for half the price.

So many question about what we'll do. If you want to directly improve the first choice XI, Gallagher is alright. If you want to improve the quality of the squad, Gallagher is excellent. If you want to improve the quality of the first choice XI as well as the quality of the squad, you probably need someone in a higher bracket.

Player of the season: maybe Gundogan if you're looking for an alternative to Haaland Most improved player: probably one of ours, but other than that maybe Grealish Surprise package: again us, but otherwise Brighton Most disappointing: Darwin Nunez, but I think he'll come good next year I don't remember goals or results Manager: De Zerbi or Pep tie
