Ah right, just every page seems like something concrete has been revealed and people have renewed certainty that he wants out.

Given the back room changes there will hopefully a much more professional approach to our signings this summer. And Howe won't have to do so much. This will require flexibility from Howe and the club but it's how it has to be. If he objects to that too much then he's really not quite the intelligent and thoughtful manager that he seems to be, which I would find very strange.

Qarabag was more like a training session. In a calendar where you don't have time for much training, that probably played a part in the decision to keep the first team together.

It's not revisionism, I was saying it at the time. Maybe wrong but not hindsight
-
Definitely some truth to this. Also because he has the persona of self improvement, philosophy and all that.
-
If so then NUFC are off their fucking rocker.
-
Can someone link the bit where he ‘clearly wants a move’ and ‘everything is out in the open’? I’m not a big Twitter follower.
-
There’s no way it’s happening but that doesn’t stop me being really scared
-
I actually really don’t care too much about finishing position, my biggest concern is that we play well more often. Of course they’re connected due to the confidence that comes with winning more.

But we signed Trippier and Burn for good and valid reasons, the main one being relegation and the previous 15 years of Ashley leaving the squad in a horrific state. And the reason they haven’t been let go is that we also needed to sign another load of players to go with them. And this is while qualifying for the CL twice. I really don’t think we appreciate the level of work that was required to achieve what we’ve done since the takeover. It’s an incredible level of progress. Everyone wants better players for less money and no transfer errors. But that’s different to the question of the overall strategy for picking targets.

He has to be retained at all costs really. We already have a massive job adding enough real quality to our team.
-
I think you can but each to their own I guess.
-
If anything he battled Brobbey too hard, would've benefitted from maybe taking a lower contract approach like Thiaw did. Botman is still our best CB, has to be the unluckiest fucker going this season though. Fractured face FFS
-
You think overall Sunderland are a better team than us?
-
Thank you, I couldn’t be bothered to go through every point again
-
Aye it’s pathetic.

I haven’t read anything saying Wilson was Howe’s friend. All I can see is that Wilson got in touch with Howe early on to start building a relationship. So Howe was on board with his appointment. Please link me if anything else is out there.

Yet both first halves were quite good.
-
Hmm, yeah they were more dangerous and we looked very shaky. But I don’t think they played us off the park. As I said though, fairly pointless discussion since we lost.
-
He approached the battle with Brobbey wrongly but I still think he’s generally a very good CB. In hindsight Thiaw was the one that was best suited to handling him.
-
If we lose Gordon we really are in trouble with the forward line.
-
I wouldn’t agree with that like, but guess it doesn’t matter.
-
Jesse has a dartboard with Andy Howe in the middle or something. Borderline obsession.
-
I'll take a break from the incessant posting for a few hours. FWIW if we can put out Tonali, Bruno and Joelinton after the break I still expect a respectable finish to the season.
-
I thought he had a really good game and it was definitely a mistake to bring him off when we did. The game was opening up and he would've got in even more dangerous positions.
