  1. Fair Interesting also that almost none of the commentary mentions the actual rule.
  2. Is it the FA who decide these appeals? I don’t understand all the different organisations involved.
  3. I mean, the decision was clearly wrong so in that sense it’s correct to overturn it. But the discussion around it has been very unfortunate.
  4. Doesn’t seem to be a solution that achieves a better/nicer stadium but also nobody wants to spend any time there. The reason people don’t spend as much time and money in SJP is obviously because of the city centre location, but also because the offerings in the ground are so terrible. You can’t really aim to have such a bad fan experience that it supports local pubs. That’s just weird and could never be the aim for any stadium improvements. FWIW I can imagine that people might meet some friends inside the ground for a quick drink when they won’t necessarily go the pub together. Both going to the match, just hang around a bit for a quick pint.
  5. Probably the best footballer of all time TBH.
  6. They need to create a team of VAR officials that is separate from the on-field refs IMO, and break the assumption that they are there to support the referee. They should be there to spot things the ref has missed and correct mistakes. Things like this clear and obvious thing shouldn’t exist. Look at the video, decide what the right decision is, advise the referee. Should be normalised for the referee to ask for input as well, like in rugby. He should be able to stop the game and say ‘I’m not sure what happened there, please let me know’. Or something like that. Some random ideas but I think VAR is not as good as it should be because it’s operating under these weird conventions of authority and personal relationships.
  7. It’s out of central London but it’s in a really busy area with lots of places to go around and on the route from whatever station you use. It’s not the nicest area and not comparable to Newcastle city centre. But it is Tottenham.
  8. Funny how many of Miggy's goals for us came in the inside left channel, a position he basically never got into in the second half of his career here. Wonder how he would have done if he hadn't been made into a RW.
  9. Christ, as if local news ratings could get any worse.
  10. Think Disasi is decent, bit of a big unit at times and not sure he’s helped by his name sounding like disaster
  11. He really seems to have been training that cut inside onto his left foot. Another level to his threat if that becomes a genuine option. Fair play, I used to think he was absolute dog but he's doing better than I ever thought possible.
  12. Actually fairly relevant since he grew up a toon fan. It was all a dream
  13. Rated him more than most, I don’t think he’ll go down as a legend or anything but he always worked hard and I feel he was unlucky with the management changes after he signed. Should’ve really gone earlier to a league where he could really impact the game.
  14. The finish was easy, it was the control that was the world class element.
  15. Not sure going to Spurs is a good move for Iraola TBH.
  16. Starting to really warm to Ange.
  17. This is why I’m not as depressed as I maybe should be. At least we have a functioning football club again. I do believe the PL will eventually have to find a solution that doesn’t result in such a boring transfer market. They’ve been lucky this year because Man City have dropped off and the league has become competitive.
  18. Works both ways but one way is about 80% of the problem.
