I don’t really have that much faith in Jones either TBH. He may be a good coach but he was also responsible for that split striker nonsense.

Also, Graeme Jones might be a well-respected coach and tactically aware, but we're basically saying he's being expected to go up against Guardiola, Tuchel et al by himself

Wilson's probably just about old enough to accept managers who don't really care much about tactics. Not sure how younger players who've been raised more technically would react.

Many footballers don't really care who the manager is. Him being a 'nice bloke' is probably enough for a lot of them, especially the ones who have ended up at Newcastle.
