  1. Alex Hurst spoke very well about it on the TF podcast.
  2. I think this is an interesting one in regards to that argument, since it doesn't really do anything to improve the biggest problem at the club, which is Mike Ashley. It may well have a positive influence at the club in the long-term, but I don't think it's fair to say that people who don't like this idea shouldn't be allowed to criticise it. I personally like the idea, but I do think it's an extremely long shot. And it is also completely dependent on Mike Ashley not being the owner, which will resolve most of our problems in itself.
  3. How does it factor into people going to games?
  4. xG is a measure of how good the chances are basically, based on where the shot is from, angle, distance, foot vs head etc etc If you create lots of chances you can have a great xG but if your finishing is worse than the model suggests you'll obviously end up much worse off. And same with defending, you can concede lots of chances but have better saving than average. It's not really a measure of how 'good' a team you are, because finishing, saving, blocking etc are all part of that equation as well. It's just one measure to show how good the opportunities you have and concede are.
  5. Sure, that would be for a buyer to decide, would depend on the people. But say I can get £10m towards my bid, good PR and all I have to do is listen to what the fan representatives tell me, it doesn't seem such a bad idea.
  6. I can see a good owner wanting the fans in, excellent PR and an easy way to get their views.
  7. Valid concern for a lot of people. I guess if we knew exactly who the owner will be in future, it would put off as many people as it would attract. Right now we don’t know who it will be.
  8. ‘People’ are too positive, ‘people’ are too negative, ‘people’ are too defensive. Maybe just stick to discussing the substance instead of the meta-complaining.
  9. Nonsense, there's been opinions on all sides.
  10. I think it would've been nice to have a deadline for it, say 5 or 10 years. But I get that it's very difficult to say. Or a regular review to vote on whether to keep or donate every 2 years (or something).
  11. I don’t think it’s as simple as ‘if we have a decent owner we don’t need fan involvement’. Of course the situation would presumably be better under non-Ashley, but that doesn’t mean that fan involvement isn’t beneficial. Whether any new owners would sell a stake is a different question, pretty much impossible to know.
  12. Worth a try, for promotion I would have gone for more prominent examples like Hearts (and any others there are). Not knowing when it might time out is interesting, it could be another decade or more before the club changes hands. Think it’s a decent idea, crowdfunding has proven that a lot of money can be raised without any significant cost to individuals.
  13. I’m not sure there’s much hype, it’s just a couple of social media posts from a fan group.
  14. No chance, too much like a protest, which is not really their thing.
  15. He hasn't really done anything IMO, it's just how fans are. Football fans are a captive audience, precisely what makes them so easy to take the piss out of.
  16. My only issue is that the reason for the trust to exist isn't really logical at the moment, since the club isn't worth engaging with. And doing so only makes it look like a normal football club when it isn't one. I'm not 100% sure where people like Hurst sit on going vs not going to games, on the TF podcast plenty of them say they wouldn't be watching the games if there was anything else to do. But then they also say that they wish they could be in SJP so they could get Bruce out etc. Either way, I personally believe the trust should be a 100% Ashley out protest movement, but that has never had much traction with NUFC fans when other people have tried it.
  17. We’ll win if we play as well as against Spurs and pick the right players. But sadly there’s no guarantee of either.
  18. Looks ever more likely to go down to the game v Fulham. Really they should overhaul us before then, but they seem to have lost their momentum a bit. Even though we improved today, it could easily be a one-off. And even if it isn’t, our fixtures are so difficult that we could play OK and still collect very few points.
  19. Nobody seems to know they’re in a relegation battle. He should’ve been playing for that reason alone.
  20. Spurs are a very average team really, counterattacking with Son and Kane is the only time they look good.
