Our biggest failing for sure, can only put it down to the fact that all our executive appointments have failed and we haven't had the person in place to build out a really elite-level department.

I think this period is the best because of the fact we emerged from a period of despair that covered a large proportion of my adult life. I was in the process of removing myself from the club completely, considering myself a neutral and getting rid of any NUFC stuff I owned. I know that Keegan saved the club and that period was amazing but I was a bit young to appreciate it in the same way I do now. And I didn't really experience the pain that came before. And also we didn't win anything.

Don't think anyone thinks he is TBH, it's more about finding a place in the team for him while we try to press with a faster forward.
-
Sure, I hope so, a lot of players from all of the top leagues are at the WC though, it's not like it's only the superstars. I hope we already have some deals in the pipeline, you're right we desperately need them to happen.
-
We don't need to wait around for the World Cup, not so sure for players and agents though.
-
Yeah but nobody would care about the fee if he was playing well. And if he’d cost £10m less he’d still be a bad signing with what he’s done so far.
-
Yeah totally, I just think that would make referees even more scared to call it.
-
Not much would be my guess. Think if Wissa hadn’t suffered a bad injury is the better question.
-
They have to do something about penalties in football. Such a low scoring game and results being decided by someone diving when they feel a hand on their shoulder. Ruins the sport.
-
Yeah, I think we’re supposed to have at least 2 lethal wingers though
-
Yes and no. I still think in theory he should be able to link up really well with our wide players who want goals above anything else. And runners like Ramsey and Tonali from midfield. Obviously we’ve had loads of injures, fatigue and have played shit so none of this has really been able to be tested.
-
You know what I mean though. 3 players proven to be able to play well and get goals and assists in the PL. Came here and either got injured or did nothing. Being pessimistic and then being proved right is fine and all that. But there was no logical reason to think they’d be this bad.

I still think all of our signings made sense on paper. Woltemade being the risk factor. If Elanga, Ramsey and Wissa had contributed anywhere near what we expected the season would’ve been completely different. Combination of bad luck with injuries and inexplicably bad form for Elanga fucked us. Ramsey will eventually turn out to be an excellent signing. Hopefully Woltemade too.

We can only sell maximum one good player IMO. The idea that everyone should just be waved goodbye because we had one dodgy season is silly to me. They can suck it up and do better next time.
-
It’s certainly not a good idea to not bring in a few players.
-
Same in Milburn, quite a good number of boos.
-
Hmm, not sure about that. He played at least 3 key passes I can remember in the previous match.
-
There was a lob opportunity IIRC, he just hit it way too long obviously.
-
Still believe the most worried I could possibly be is if we got rid of Howe any time soon. I'd have far more concerns about next season than I do now.
-
That’s only one normal week after 40+ games of madness though.
-
We’d probably have won if it wasn’t for Pope TBH, as bad as it was.
-
Hmm maybe, I think a few of them were quite close to coming here mind. Even so, targeting worse players isn't necessarily a good plan either. I know in hindsight we were wrong, but I'm not surprised that we thought after a great season, getting the CL and a trophy, we would be very attractive to signings. I can see why we aimed quite high.
-
I don't think it's good enough either but plenty of our other players are just OK as well.
-
It’s not really that it is or isn’t his team. He’s part of the picture and so is the hierarchy and everything that happened in the summer and before.
