Yes and no. I still think in theory he should be able to link up really well with our wide players who want goals above anything else. And runners like Ramsey and Tonali from midfield. Obviously we’ve had loads of injures, fatigue and have played shit so none of this has really been able to be tested.

You know what I mean though. 3 players proven to be able to play well and get goals and assists in the PL. Came here and either got injured or did nothing. Being pessimistic and then being proved right is fine and all that. But there was no logical reason to think they’d be this bad.

I still think all of our signings made sense on paper. Woltemade being the risk factor. If Elanga, Ramsey and Wissa had contributed anywhere near what we expected the season would’ve been completely different. Combination of bad luck with injuries and inexplicably bad form for Elanga fucked us. Ramsey will eventually turn out to be an excellent signing. Hopefully Woltemade too.

We can only sell maximum one good player IMO. The idea that everyone should just be waved goodbye because we had one dodgy season is silly to me. They can suck it up and do better next time.

It’s certainly not a good idea to not bring in a few players.

Still believe the most worried I could possibly be is if we got rid of Howe any time soon. I'd have far more concerns about next season than I do now.

Hmm maybe, I think a few of them were quite close to coming here mind. Even so, targeting worse players isn't necessarily a good plan either. I know in hindsight we were wrong, but I'm not surprised that we thought after a great season, getting the CL and a trophy, we would be very attractive to signings. I can see why we aimed quite high.

Actually think he would have been better in the second half when Everton were camped around their box and giving us the ball back every 30 seconds. And I don’t understand taking him off when we bring on Murphy.

Hmm, a bit harsh. We sold our best player and missed out on about 10 targets. It’s not like he hand picked any player he wanted.

Knew that hench linesman would be shite. Actually thought it was offside before the corner that led to their first goal.

Thought he was alright today, some nice touches and not many mistakes.

So unlucky he had to come off, was our best player.
