We’re currently writing off Tonali after a period of bad form yet we’re saying Anderson has instantly become one of the top midfielders in the league after half a good season. Suppose we can always backtrack again in a few months.

The aim of the previous window was to increase the depth IMO. None of the signings were really intended to take the first team up a level. Then that was complicated a lot by the actions of the rat.

I think at the moment we have Bruno and Joelinton operating in front of Tonali, don't we? Joelinton pushes up into the left channel and Bruno on the right. I reckon a double pivot of Bruno and Tonali/Miley would be better for us, but we don't have that at the moment.

I think 2 deeper midfielders and one advanced would help in both ways. We need a way to draw opposition CMs forward so we can hit the spaces behind them. TBF though, all of our CMs got on the end of attacking balls in the box today.

It would be much better with just one commentator who describes the action TBH. Having two people there just encourages waffle and pointless chat which is inevitably biased as well.

A lot of the time it is like watching on opposition fan TV. Just all about how great the opposition are, how they’ll be feeling, what they’ll be trying to do. And oh, Newcastle are also playing. I think that’s half the reason people on here always think the opposition were much better than they were.

The midfield are mostly in a triangle aren’t they? Sandro deepest and Bruno and Joe pushed up ahead. Problem is getting the ball to them and having people moving around them.
