I wouldn't say it's an easy decision, it's almost a must-win game.
-
I agree but I'm not sure there's any other way to be a football manager. Hopefully he can carve out some relaxation and family time.
-
Have I made up that Spence has been playing left, or has he just been filling in?
-
Like I said, the connection was a bit rough but the direction was perfect.
-
It's usually my preferred place because it's cheap and so close to the premium seat view. But quite rare that any songs get going really.
-
At his peak he would be nowhere near Spurs TBF.
-
He miss-hit the connection a bit against PSV but he got the most important part right, which was directing back to the left where the keeper was coming from. Great agility, awareness and body position needed to make sure that bit was done. His flying kick assist was similar in a way.

I try my best not to chat too much at the match. It's always about the game but it must still wind people up. Especially when I'm on my own and basically talking to myself Have considered wearing my AirPods to block out annoying people nearby but I know that would be weird.

Does Spence not play LB for Spurs? Guess an additional option for free he's still a decent player.
-
Yeah, thought it was a really good signing but not sure how he's done.
-
The real solutions are quite big, moving people, creating more standing, even selling more tickets to younger people. All will annoy someone, except the free pint.
-
Guess if he doesn't leave now he would want to leave when they get relegated, so any move to a PL team now is decent. Even if it's Palace. They're building a new stand and rumours are you might even be able to see the pitch from it.
-
Kind of makes sense, will be interesting to see how much they pay.

I mean, our best player left when we did make the CL. Think it depends a lot more on individual players than anything else. Obviously Europe makes us more attractive but most other potential destinations will have Europe too.

Newcastle United vs. Aston Villa: 25/1/26 @ 14:00 (Sky Sports)

Those two CMs being out is massive, particularly McGinn who seems to enjoy battling against us. -
Nah there was definitely a concerted effort to back Elanga. I've never actually a heard a song about him before but it was constant for a good few minutes.
-
That's a fair enough interpretation and a generous one to him. But the other option was to drop him and play Barnes because Barnes was playing better. Of course you could probably argue (Howe prob thinks this) that we aren't a good enough team to have Anthony Gordon on the bench. I'm happy Barnes has still been able to perform so well and that's credit to him. And credit to Gordon for improving. But I think it's understandable why people had different views on it.
-
He's better technically than people think just because he's a big lad. He's Brasileiro at the end of the day. Feel like he was just shattered before and has benefitted from the time out. Also might be games where he can be rested for Ramsey or a new player.
-
I don't think people will moan as long as Gordon is playing alright. The problem was he was taking Barnes' preferred spot and playing shit. If it's working itself out, great.
-
Wissa's was so weird, he got up really early and was first to the ball, but because the defender ended up heading it I think he got away with basically a barge. He only played the ball because he smashed Wissa out of the way first. In the outfield it definitely would've been a foul.

Newcastle United 3-0 PSV Eindhoven (21/01/26) | post-match from pg. 39

I actually thought they pressed us and tried to cut off our build up quite well last night at the start. Also created a few overloads down their left against Trippier. But we responded with better movement, braver passing and coverage from Thiaw moving over while Sandro dropped in. Then it wasn't working and they collapsed. -

Aye, I thought if that happened in the Prem their players would've been raging. I don't think a PL team would kick the ball out when on the attack like that. -
It’s not a ‘really serious’ one if he was able to get up and put his boot back on and jog a bit. But obviously any amount of time out is a blow to us.

Agree people tend to overreact, especially to narrow defeats, but that doesn’t mean we didn’t play very well last night.
