I said yesterday, it's the nature of the goals we're conceding that has made the recent run feel really bad. If you look at the results since Man City win they are fine (bar Sunderland obvs) and could easily have been really good if those fine margins hadn't gone against us. Of course we're not playing well and that needs to improve, but also our confidence must be really knocked by the way we've let those extra points slip through our fingers. Lots of work to do but I don't think it's a crisis overall.

I wouldn't say I was happy but I get why Howe can't just write him off like the fans can. He has to back him to some extent and hope he can work out how to contribute. It's not like the other RW options are very good anyway.

I know we do, but the point is they are the type of players that 'should' work OK with Woltemade. In fact when he signed I expected him to multiply their impact on games. Obviously we haven't done it.

A back 3 with Alex Murphy at LCB doesn’t seem the worst shout. Maybe play the forwards more like a front 2 with Woltemade behind and get more attacking from the wing backs. I’ll stop posting for today.

I see all those points but we can’t judge Howe now for the lack of a decent structure in the past. There was nobody else to sign the players before. Hopefully now we’ve filled the key jobs we’ll see a better running system. I still think Elanga is the only clear bad signing and even that’s a surprise given how well he did for Forest.

Have to say again I guess, Gordon had raised his game significantly. Agree or disagree with the choice but it wasn’t random.

We only just got Hall and Tino back as well really. And we’ve had to burn Tino out already because of other injuries. It’s really annoying Botman and Burn are now injured because formation changes are very limited with only 2 CBs to pick.

I went to a fair few Championship away games but I have zero points. Guess the points went to the people who were selling tickets on, and ones like Fulham neutral end don’t earn you any. I couldn’t be bothered with home and away games though, way too much to do. I’m grateful for an away game to save a bit of time and money.

Villa mismanaged PSR in quite a similar way to us when we had to do desperation sales. Difference is Anderson played well where Ramsey has done nothing. I don’t think we would have the wage budget to gamble on CL with expensive loans like Villa did.
