On the pitch of course you’re right, the point of a new stadium is purely commercial.

Probably the biggest negative of the squad over the last couple of seasons for me, love Sven and really believe he’s an elite level defender when fit. I don’t believe in writing off injured players so still hoping Botman/Thiaw will be our future pairing.

1 he flicked the ball around the corner to Tonali on the break, who then found Wissa to play in Barnes who should have scored if not for a heavy touch. 2 he played Bruno through who crossed for Barnes at the back post who should have scored again. 3 he had the breakaway himself where he ran the length of the pitch onto the Ramsdale throw. Arguably should have squared it but made a chance which obviously he missed. It's not world class or anything but it's good play and IMO an improvement. FWIW I think he's been crap since he came obviously, but he can compete in the PL in theory.

I never said he created the chances, he was just an important part of the moves. We all know he didn't get a shot on target, so not sure how those stats are relevant.

He contributed to 3 very dangerous moves in about 15 minutes, should've really been 1-2 goals from that. Of course he missed one himself, but some signs of light IMO. He's not messing up everything.

Well yes and no, those were good contributions so it is some progress.

Elanga was better against Chelsea like, at least 2 or 3 contributions to attacking moves that could/should have ended in goals.

He said in his interview with TNT, there’s an adjustment period to the speed and intensity of PL defences. If he was on penalties he’d be in the conversation for signing of the season.

Live I thought he ‘might’ have passed but on that replay it’s not at all clear. FWIW I thought he was decent again, messed up one attack in embarrassing manner but he was taking on 4 defenders with really nobody to pass to.
