I don’t think many forwards would pass there TBH, there are two defenders in the picture.

But he did keep him outside on his weaker foot in almost all those situations. -

Would be very impressed if we managed to get anything from this given the injuries and ridiculously short time since the last game. -
Nah I know, just because he’s been already good in the PL and I really like the signing.
-
Like almost everyone we've signed since the takeover TBH
-
I think it's just we expected a more immediate impact rather than he's been 'bad' TBH. He's been fine, he just hasn't played to his full capacity or managed to impact games as much as he would've liked. You can see he has a lot of good attributes IMO, he'll be a good signing.
-
Last thing we need is another wide man with questionable mentality who struggles to impact games.
-
Until he started playing?
-
That's not what I was saying, I was just saying the way the crowd hammer him is embarrassing and they do it even when he's not doing much wrong. I don't get why you wouldn't believe his performances are anything to do with his mental state though, that seems pretty obvious and the crowd won't be helping. Of course I'm contractually obliged to say that the crowd are entitled to do what they like. Which they are, but the idea it won't affect a player is silly. Otherwise why bother to support?
-
The crowd just want him to blindly run forward every time he gets the ball though. Even when he was alone against 3 defenders and nobody was in the middle to cross the ball to, he was getting pelters for just passing it.
-
I just hope for good signings.
-
One good block at least as well.
-
Sure he can do more, but the point was about breaking the line, which he did with movement and receiving the ball in good positions.
-
Doesn't he break the line by receiving the ball in those spaces between the midfield and defence though?
-
I’ve always thought he looked very comfortable, albeit only really seen him in preseason games. Should definitely be used more, arguably better LB option than Burn if it gave Burn a rest.
-
You might be right, I just meant it’s more of a judgement than anything proven specifically by the stats you shared. Like I said, I can’t really decide but I know I’ll be annoyed by Pope again.
-
It shows we need a new keeper, not sure it shows Pope is definitely the best option. Depends how damaging each set of weaknesses is to how we play, not sure if anything in those numbers tells you that. I honestly don't know, if we go back to Pope I know we'll just be frustrated by how it affects our buildup play.
-
Yep, it was embarrassing. He really didn't do anything wrong except not sprint directly forward every time he received the ball. Silly, but has been the way for decades. Nice to hear lots of Eddie Howe chants though.
-
Quite impressed by Barnes tonight, even looked a bit stronger than usual. One moment where he played Tino in on the outside when I think he really should've taken the shot on himself on the inside. But he kept plugging away and getting crosses in. Would like to see him sometimes pick up the ball a little bit closer to the middle of the pitch to really open up the shot more, but I know Howe likes the wingers to generally stay pretty wide.
-
He's been poor for a while but is obviously shattered.
-
Thought tonight was a noticeable improvement in attitude and approach to the game, players were working for the manager and trying to prove they can impact games. The midfield worked hard and Willock and Ramsey were good. Some things still didn't click fluidly but it was a good response overall. Does Alex Murphy not have a thread? Was really hoping to see him tonight, he's a very respectable player and we've seen what Miley is doing.

Having said in the past he wasn't willing to make a duel or a tackle, today he had hundreds. Still early for him but is a proper star in the making.
