I think the release clause is 100m euro or £86m so if we have bid 80m euro that's £69m quid some way short of what they want. Think City got marmoush for under his clause though.

Maybe the gamble is on trying to get back to back champions league failure to do so could leave a crop of players wanting to move on anyway which would fill the budget back up through player sales. I would rather be in the drivers seat here and sell who we want rather than have to sell to balance the books. However we aren't capable of fighting on multiple fronts without significant investment so I think now the time appears to take the risk. Hopefully things from sponsors/improved accounts proves some of the journos peddling 100m budgets as just untrue from the get go rather than the situation evolving out of nessecity I.e. losing out on cheaper targets such as delap.

Basically this can be happy with what's been done but some things have taken a long time to work out. Hence why I said hours ago a few announcements such as sponsorships and stadium and training ground put all issues to bed very quickly for most. Hopefully what's left of the executive team will do some interviews or another FAB meeting to put some meat on the bones information /position wise

I never said anything other than I am disappointed its taking too long. If you feel this long of a wait is fine I can't change your mind. If you feel that the club is right to partner up at the right deal and its worth the wait that's also fine. However doesn't stop me feeling its taking too long and does have an immediate 1st team knock on affect as limits our budgets to buy and to pay certain wages so taking our time when the lads on the pitch need regular injections of cash has the potential to negatively affect our ability to do so. Never disagreed year on year growth isn't amazing is it sustainable without more sponsors I don't think so. I will try a slightly different angle here. Do you believe having a training kit and training ground sponsor is a good idea? If you answered not bothered or no then the rest of this is pointless. If you answer yes and I say to you the chief commercial officer set this as a priority to look at at least 11 months ago and made that position public would you be disappointed it didn't happen yet? If you answer no then as a sub question how long not having one at all is acceptable to you before you feel its dragged on too long? If you answer yes then you agree with my very basic point that there are sponsors there which aren't obscure (such as official tyre sponsor or whatever else Manchester United have) that we should be getting and taking our time does have consequences see the last 3 windows and the sale of Anderson etc as an outcome when your spending over your income.

I think we are going to have to agree to disagree I have no evidence to suggest they are sitting there laughing their tit's off saying poor saps are buying all this adidas stuff, stack spending and fan memberships and we are not bothering to get anything in to drive commercial revenue. I believe they want to bring people in I am disappointed of the pace of it all Silverstone joined in late 2022 and we got the big shirt sponsor and shirt manufacturer in but since then? Official post partner? Fenwick? Official flight sponsor? I am wanting more the club needs more the first 11 needs improving its either gonna happen through player trading or driving commercial revenue. Not sure if you read the part where I said I never suggested we have turned anyone down? Do you think we are doing everything we can to secure one? Do you think we could have settled on one 3 seasons ago and have been benefiting from that increase commercial revenue? What is a reasonable period of time to say you are exploring one a securing one? Moved what needle? This has been debated on and off already at nauseum "some" prem sides are getting 10m a season its a wage bump for a star we want to hang onto or amortisation of a year for another signing. Not sure you can be happy outside of knowing the industry or in the inner workings of the club for the club itself to say it wants training ground and kit sponsor and more commercial revenue to help fund the first team and nothing happen in the following 11 months.

Never suggested they have turned down any sponsors fan advisory board minutes from last summer pointed to training kit and training ground sponsors next stadium naming rights a little more complex. We are 11 months on from those minutes and I have yet to hear anything is close. These are the easy wins I am talking ones which next in line to bring the most in commercially that other prem top 6 sides have. The club can't compete with wages and have had multiple windows of lack of signings part of that was the need to invest heavily however the other thing holding us back is commercial revenue these sponsors being left "on the table" hinder us.

I don't like him as a loud mouth who talks over the 2 mild ones who actually go to press conferences. However he is right no new training ground, thin executive posts, the stadium decision which unfortunately according to the press has been "immenent" since 6 months ago, the lack of "easy" sponsors. He hit the nail on the head with the point that the squad is on a further along place than the club is to support it in terms of champions league wages. This can all easily be resolved with1 or 2 announcements but very very slow going.

That or the stack been making mad money or some juicy sponsors are being announced this summer ?
