    Steve McClaren

I can understand protecting players and trying to keep some form of positive mindset but this ren and stimpy happy , happy joy joy shite he keeps pushing will eventually piss off even the most "give the guy a break" supporter. When we are shite I would much rather he tell it like it is, consistantly shit enough to be and deservingly so for most of the season in the bottom 3/5 teams you cannot use any superlatives to talk about performances when you have lost for the THIRD time newly promoted watford. His comments about the three changes made about the players were also so gag inducing I feel he must be either a great big twat or trying to look like one to make the convo about him being shite instead of 70% of the players. He used the term tremendous and then went on to say we are weak in both boxes and I know for a fact we didnt dominate in the middle so were exactly were we "tremendous" at rolling over and telling sides to fuck us long and hard and send us down with a wanker at the helm who will smile all the way to the last game of the season telling us "if we play like that every week we will be ok.......... in the championship"
  2. Agreed a weak middle was part of our issues, the weak middle also contributed to the additional pressure the back four have been under this season, the middle has also reduced the number of goals a possible striker could score through lack of forward play and movement to free up areas of space. For that I think Shelvey is a great signing just what the middle needed and will help us improve however I wont be jumping up and down saying its been a great transfer window as we bought two midfielders which was my entire point as I still see us weak at centre half and left back and I dont see having our current strikers being enough to get us the goals we need. If we were signing 4 players this window and shelvey was amongst them then great if he is the only quality edition I still dont know if thats enough to see us through. That's quite a bit different from what you first said, which made it sound like we got midfielders we don't need. I don't think anyone would say our business should be done, but when the window opened CM was our greatest need and we've taken care of that (hopefully). will have to agree to disagree then, my original comment was when someone else proposed a reset of how many signings we will make this window. I personally feel if we had of signed a left back, centre half and striker and tried someone else from our current squad in the middle that would have been better than buying 2 midfield players and no one else. Ideally we will go on to buy a few more or loans and I will feel more happy.
  3. We've had by far the worst CM pairing the league this season, and it's probably the two most important positions in the team. Upgrading it will improve us more than any other player would have. 4. above defenders and strikers? then no central midfield is the last on the pile for me You was happy with Colback and Anita/Tiote in the middle? Really? not my point exactly what I mean is if the window closes today and we sign no one else you really think 1. colback will no longer play in the middle 2. the two midfielders we signed will help our lack of a quality centre half and a left back 3. score the 10/15 goals missing in the side from a striker who can regularly score I dont think colback and anita are any good I dont want them in the side but mclaren has been keen on two defensive midfield players which again I disagree with as well.
  5. above defenders and strikers? then no central midfield is the last on the pile for me
  6. so its a constant training or conditioning issue then?
  7. end of window summary prediction we needed defenders and strikers we got midfielders and a pile on the injured list happy days
  8. He's a good player. Young and English, resell potential. The fact that Middlesbrough just bid £9M for McCormack makes £15M for Berahino a bargain imo. except we could be talking 25/30 million and for a club that is still 50/50 for going down this season it is an expensive risk especially for a kid west brom just havent fancied this season despite his 20 goals last season.
  9. I think Lee Ryder failed maths. More like failed at life he gets paid for this shit
  10. How and why does the chronicle think if we buy Townsend our spending will be 38 million in Jan??
  11. from BBC live feed: "I'd be surprised if Berahino left" Chelsea 1-1 West Brom Danny Mills Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 live Saido Berahino has come on for Claudio Yacob for West Brom, prompting a chat on 5 live about whether he might leave The Hawthorns. "I'd be surprised if Berahino left. Without a shadow of a doubt, his stock has fallen, and his price has fallen with it. He was worth £25 million - he's now worth 12 - 15 at most now. "I think Tony Pulis will happily say to other managers - 'he's not easy to control, this kid. He will cause problems.'"
  12. no doubt mclaren will say Colback was lucky to recover so quickly but still suffering the effects from the knock therefore will be first on team sheet come the weekend
  13. Mclaren has chatted to Perez about how down the pecking order he will be from next week onwards....
  14. dont worry lads as soon as the lads come to the game wearing their sports direct suits we will be fine I am sure http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-united-expected-issued-new-10186581
  15. cant we get a fine for lack of control of players due to too many cards
  16. The fact how poor we been the last few seasons on top of other teams around and above us improving we need bodies in of quality just to stand still orslightly imporove depending how much new coaches and coaching will improve us four or five is desperately needed
  17. even if it were true dunno why we would waste 15 million on a 1-4 striker we have plenty of fodder already

    John Carver

I wonder if they had of accepted this neanderthals offer to drag the Newcastle team back to the cave if he too would have been offered onto the board. Sigh of relief he can now concentrate on worrying about his clairvoyance business
  19. I agree, as long as he is part of the process and has his input that's what counts, for example if they are targeting a striker, the manager says what he needs this or that characteristic/skill wise and then a list is drawn up each meeting the clubs demands for a certain age, fee, wages etc as long as the manager would be happy with any of the 2/3 on the list it isn't the end of the world he didn't get his number one pick. The issue has been we have just signed a player and said to the manager here he is make it work. Not saying its perfect as we no doubt will pick the cheaper not the best option but it will hopefully mean the manager is willing to play the person and not write them off the second they land on the training ground.
  20. dragging it on to give time for Carver to come back from his caravan golfing holiday in order to blow away the competition plus he needs time to find a working colour printer for his best coach in the league certificate.
  21. he is worth more than the 2 million we paid for him that's the main thing.........
  22. I'm not wanting to back Ashley here at all because I believe he's all smoke and mirrors, however what you have said is bullshit. Looking someone in the eye is often a major sign of lying. Looking up (either to the left or right depending on which hand you right with) is a signal of either recalling information or fabricating information. based on the owners actions from day one and your insight into public speaking I chose to believe the fabricating information option
  23. never trust a man that cannot maintain eye contact alot of that interview he spent looking off to the far right or up in the air while I appreciate he isnt a public speaker this just reminded me of a televised version of that Charnley did with the chronicle spoon fed rhetoric from someone who has shown nothing but the exact opposite of what has being peddled.
  24. whilst that may be true from the prospective of registering of squad numbers and squad sizes we have a couple that are looking to be gone purely from run down contracts a couple more on a year or less we may try and peddle just to get a fee for them. I dont think there is an excuse this year that we cannot cut the deadwood enough in order to bring numbers in. Money sitting in surplus in the bank also means we dont have to sell to buy this year. This may be one of the only years this happens so we have to make it count. Although I dont trust the club with my season ticket money anymore god knows how many fuck ups they will make from 30-60 million being spent
