"who the fuck picked their arse before handling the ball"

I think Dave is trying to say that its not always about the big negatives but some of the positives. We have done some good things this window unfortunately they arent all positive but its not going to be perfect because of many factors one of which is the lack of time the board/new set up has been together.

is Jose trying to prove if Kev wants an attack minded lb then he just needs to come to him and not zoggy?
-
Hope this goes through for him will be a fresh start for him and his new wife, will miss talking to him though as he goes to my mates African night fundraisers.

voted for cautious. Just because as much as I want to defend the board about their policies I dont know enough in terms of their intent for this window to really stand up to anyone with major doubts. Obvioulsy I think some people go way over the top but that can be said for those who are over confident to overly negative. Once this window is out of the way we then know how we stand until the window is closed all we can do is hope I just feel confident in KK to do what is right by the club and supporters he aint a pushover.

Hence why M&S food is struggling and Netto/Aldi etc are showing increased sales? sports goods are not essential purchases food is.

think people are more annoyed with him/her/it constantly saying we are not a big draw we cant attract anything descent there are 100 other clubs that a player would choose than to come to us and that doom and gloom is upon us with no end in sight. To then use spurs as a shiny beacon of how things should be just rubs salt in the wound seen as most people on dont like spuds for one reason or another.
-
Waste of time asking that sort of thing already asked him to list 3 things good about the club and what do you know no reply.
-
I must say that I think Rio aint half the player he used to be and I probably paid more attention to his england performances than man uniteds. I guess it goes back to your original point that a descent attacking/ good organising type mid fielder is hard to find.

I really have no idea who. The defenders i rate simply wouldn't come here and i don't take as much notice of a good defender as a good attacker when watching footie from abroad. Celluer seems to be rock solid, would be the 1st name that comes to mind. People have this obsession with a 'ball playing centre half' which apparently KK loves, can't say i noticed that in his 1st days here, but it was a while ago, secondly who are these ball playing centre halves? Thirdly, what makes a good one, someone who can pass? A good ball playing defender is not just a good passer, but is someone who can carry the ball out of defence and into the midfield, forcing a central midfielder to deal with it, allowing a team mate to push on up the pitch with more space. Plus they need to be able to defend, as well as any other. Rio ferdinand springs to mind with that description

Can you do me a favour just a little one and no I aint gonna tell you to fuck right off like a few on here. But can you think a little harder than negative and give me 3 things great about the club in general? No tricks just a simple list.

The only ones we know for certain are Woodgate and Modric. the worrying thing is that both of them rejected us to go to tottenham. hope this doesnt happen again with the players we want to sign now at the time it was more like woodgate does not go back on his word keegan came in too late (not his fault seen as he had only just took over the club) and there was no player snub really Modric already debated for nearly 100 pages but Mort at the time said we offered more money and his "agents" turned down the deal as we wanted to own the player 100% and not put up with having to give away % selling on profits. Not really the same as putting it in the context of both players rejecting us as an option.
-
both of them would have cost around 25m as well and would only have covered 2 of the 3/4 signings keegan said he wanted so jumping to conclusions here there seems to be the funding to get the players they want lets hope they have decent back up targets who turn us down/go else where/stay put. I would hate to think we put all our eggs into one basket target wise and signed no one as Keegan can only do so much with what he has.

Fair enough mate, I can't deny I'd love to know who we're after and who we're going to get. I've been going mental on Newsnow the last week or so, but I think I'm just coming to accept the fact that when we sign someone it'll probably be a surprise. Newsnow is my friend I love it although sometimes the bastard can get my hopes up seen as the sources are shite at times. I am affraid of the unknown and excited about it at the same time abit like a kid at xmas wanting to know if he/she got their big present.

its catch 22 for me I love the thought of sticking 2 fingers up to the press and telling them nothing they have raped us enough to the point where we are "tokenly" added to nearly every article you can think of. However I also wish we knew more about the plans of the board/the backing the manager has/ how much money we have to spend of a lil peek at the type of players we have already thought about.

At the time the press were saying it was hoped when shearer left shola would step "out of his shadow"

I only managed to speak to him briefly at his wedding reception but from what I can gather he loves his wife, church and the northeast and does not want to move away from the area. There was brief interest from boro and he has turned down stoke and what seems like ipswich more based on location than anything else.
-
Surely he means 25 million yen

was invited to the wedding reception of shola on thursday night very posh not that often i have to pull a suit on

Jbarnes long may your attitude continue, if every club only ever had local support then we would have no dynamic leagues anywhere. If all you do is look at who is winning things/top of the league, flavour club of the month and randomly pick them so you can be part of the crowd then I feel sorry for you. What goes up most definetly goes down and teams like that would be hit hardest by a permanent drop in fortunes. Teams like newcastle who has not won anything in an age so on the surface would hold no real bragging rights to support I feel so proud that my local club can be so attractive to people from around the world.
-
You put up with a fair ammount of shite NE5 for obviously holding true to your views and fair play for that, lets hope no one ever has a board related question again and that should definetly solve the problem.
-
Keegans quotes recently are certainly the type to say that he wants to keep Milner as a long term prospect still only about 22. In that respect I see this situation being as difficult to guess as the left back situation. Keegan can either go big and push the current player as a back up to learn and develop or buy someone cheaper and for it to be more of an even competition for places. In that respect it again goes back to the point if they all came available how much they were.
-
he is only getting about 10-20 league games a season at chelsea and if he has any international carear ideas he needs to be playing regularly so that can be a big drawer for us or anyone else going for him. Also the fact keegan has managed him before means if Chelsea did for some reason descide to cash in on him then we could stand a good chance.
