  1. better option than dummet/manquilo/gamez/haidara - they've played countless games for us between them and havent ever gotten near mbabu's level on his debut. ok it was one game but the strength, tackling, pace was evident. not saying he was the new maldini or anything but was worth sticking with when looking at what we got for him and what we spent on shitty FB'S since. yes i am a fanboy.
  2. even if we'd had a top level championship keeper, a lot of the goals would have been saved.
  3. the shelvey issue is perplexing to say the least. its not as though hayden is a defensive rock.
  4. I don't think he really needs to make any explanations. His tendency to stick with formations and players has usually been proven correct. He's consistently backed Gayle for example, when plenty of fans were fed up, early last season included. Same goes for Lascelles, daft as it seems now. I can remember loads of supporters calling him worse than s*** during a bad run in the championship. I think the biggest chance we've got of surviving this season is we have a manager who is clear minded and knows exactly what he wants regardless of what anyone else thinks, including the owner. unfortunately his "usually correct" tactics/selection have not worked in the last 7 games. still the man for the job but he needs to go back to basics. pack the midfield and press high.
  5. he's persisting in playing without our best midfielder. his explanations dont really make sense.

    Rolando Aarons

absolutley pointless decision (if its true).

    Jacob Murphy

gradual improvement and match-sharpness with each game he plays. still feel aarons deserves a start.

that defending! makes ours look competent.
  10. subs always seem to be made so late but merino, ritchie and mbemba all need to be blamed for our defeat today before rafa.

    Jamaal Lascelles

Former Nottingham Forest defender Jamaal Lascelles modestly insists a heart-warming act of kindness to a former Marine in Newcastle is “not a big deal”. The 24-year-old took help for heroes into his own hands as he came to the aid of a disabled ex-serviceman who had fallen out of his wheelchair while crossing a road. Newcastle United captain Lascelles, who is currently sidelined with an ankle injury, was going for dinner with his girlfriend when he saw the man in difficulty. And, in an interview with next week’s MOTD Magazine, he explained: “The other day me and my girlfriend, we just went to Hana for some food and as I was pulling up there was a guy kind of falling out of his wheelchair. READ MORE Nottingham Forest have no plans to recall Jorge Grant - and Mark Warburton hopes Everton have same stance over Kieran Dowell “So obviously I went over and helped him and his wheelchair had broken, one of the wheels had snapped off so I was trying to fix that. Jamaal Lascelles “I was raining, it was freezing, it was about 8 o’clock at night. “I couldn’t fix it. I felt really bad because he was with his girlfriend or wife, I think she was pregnant too. I felt really bad for him so I thought ‘okay, I’ll try and get him in my car and I’ll give him a lift home’. “It was only in Gateshead where he lived. I lifted him up but I think he’d just had an operation – he didn’t have any legs. I tried to lift him but it was too painful for him. READ MORE 'From the moment you sign, even before the ink is dry, the attitude for me is that you have to start working on securing the next contract' - Warburton's challenge to Forest striker Walker “My car’s quite high up so I didn’t know what to do, so I said ‘come inside the restaurant’. I got him a few drinks, I was chatting to him and I rang him a taxi that could take people with wheelchairs. “That came, I got him in there and said ‘I’ll get you a few tickets’. I gave him my gloves, gave him £20 for the taxi. I felt sorry for him. “When it comes to things like that I’ve got a proper soft spot. He’s battling on, he said he had to push himself 30 minutes back to his house! 0:00 CLICK TO PLAY REDS STRIKER TYLER WALKER ON HIS NEW DEAL AND FACING IPSWICH “It just makes you wake up and think we’re in a really fortunate position as footballers, we get things handed to us – obviously we’ve had to work hard to get ourselves to this situation, but he went to work one day and his legs were blown off. “It gets me annoyed about this ankle, I can’t train, but he’s wheeling himself around Newcastle with no legs. I added him on Facebook and we’ve exchanged a few messages. I’m going to give him a few tickets.” “I do have a soft spot for things like that and he was the nicest guy ever,” he added. READ MORE 'Nobody's going to want to let Nottingham Forest play - because they know what happens when they do' “I think he was about 27, he lost his legs when he was 24. “It just makes you think about how fortunate we are as footballers, we don’t have anything to moan about, at all. “He was an ex-marine. I think he was out in Afghanistan, I think he stepped on a mine. He lost his legs, but his upper body is so strong because he’s always wheeling. It was only 10 to 15 minutes out of my time. “I was on the way into the restaurant, to me it’s not a big deal. To him it probably is.”
  12. needs to be playing much further forward like he was last night when he came on. penetrative passes that put the opposition on the back foot rather than long hollywood balls from in our own half.
  13. yet again, rafa sitting on his arse and waiting until the games lost. unforgiveable. really has to take as much of the blame as the players. honeymoon over, gaffer.
  14. People are halfwits. He got a lot of abuse at the game, apparently. he got a bit, as did a few of the others. not as much as joselu. crowd was at its loudest when his number came up for sub.
  15. if he's playing more as a target man/hold up player - it should be with gayle, not perez.
  16. Absolutely. And twitter. And it's clearly getting to him (probably because it affects the team). "If we make the mistake of criticising our players all the time, they will go into the next game and they will be more anxious, more nervous and they will make more mistakes" is a quote from his press conference yesterday. fucking hell, man. some of these players need to grow a pair. "oh, no they're all saying i had a shit game. stop picking on me, you're making me nervous." overpaid cunts.
  17. he's shit and you can't really argue against it.
  18. aye but its one in, one out so the quota stays the same.
  19. its not just his finishing though. his hold up play has gone to shit, and he cant win a header for shite.
  20. the better the players around you, the better you look and the better you play. being surrounded by dross and a lack of movement really limits shelvey's game.
  21. still cant fathom rafa not making a single change till 0-3.
  22. dont think he can drop Lejeune until lascelles is fit because we need mbemba at LB.
  23. nowt will ever beat that riviere miss vs west ham
  24. much better alongside lascelles - decent partnership thats had time to develop. lejeune is stills truggling to adapt.
