And if McClaren gets the bullet this weekend, I bet our lot don't even have a plan to replace him.
-
Even Mick Lowes this morning was saying that if we fail to beat Bournemouth, he can't see how we can escape relegation - that we were sleepwalking to relegation like last time. Said that some big decisions would be needed this weekend if that happened. Everyone can see it apart from those running the club.
-
A double relegation for Ashley with SD and NUFC.
-
Leicester end up gaining a point over Spurs when the latter were virtually being declared champions today on the back of Leicester's result yesterday.
-
# This is how I view it as well. There is no way Charnley will sack McClaren - if it happens, it will be because Ashley has made the decision for them.

Luke Edwards @LukeEdwardsTele 2 mins2 minutes ago Allardyce on Pardew "Alan would say that, Alan says they have played well when they have played badly. When have you ever heard Alan say.. Luke Edwards @LukeEdwardsTele 2 mins2 minutes ago ..they didn’t deserve to win? He always deserves to win and they don’t. You know what he is like, you had him up here long enough."

I see several papers are running stories about Arsenal wanting to sign Aarons in the Summer along with a couple of Italian clubs. Just what they need - another injury prone winger.
-
Mark Douglas has his say. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/what-happened-alan-pardew-collapse-10961664 "The problem with allowing those excuses to be freely disseminated is that it damages United’s reputation. It makes it a harder club to sell externally – both to players and potential managers. Souness’ version – just like Pardew’s – is about excusing their own mistakes."
-
Heard a bit of the commentary in the car and they were criticising Pardew for talking Europe instead of trying to get to 40 points first as Ranieri was doing and then looking to kick on from there. Classic Pards though talking Europe on the back of a win or two early in the season.

I'd be in favour of this and not particularly for him as a player but more as someone who we could train up as a coach. Always comes across as intelligent on and off the pitch. He is setting up a business up here - just bought a building in Mosley Street for their offices so it would seem his intention is to return to the area at some point.

It's a great question, pretty much nails it. The "answer" though...so f***ing arrogant. They're not taking anything in. Will be genuinely interesting to read the minutes (for a change) if we get relegated. Would they accept any responsibility? Would they even accept that we aren't in the Premier League any more? When they were questioned in a previous meeting about last season, they said there was no point looking back so it will be swept under the carpet as usual.

There is a live blog on their website.

And yet you have Ginola of all people on the radio this morning going on about us keep changing managers creating a lack of stability.

http://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/newcastle-can-never-succeed-mike-ashleys-identity-draining-ownership?#:IH1NTbMkJAu0hA "Unless things change drastically, Newcastle’s indifferent drift into obscurity will simply thrum along, an ocean liner plummeting towards the sea bed as its captain forensically eyes the bank balance."

http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-need-jolted-out-denial-10913522? Newcastle need to be jolted out of denial - and they should be asking questions about Steve McClaren

A lot of managers (domestic and foreign) want to work in the Premier League. Take out the top clubs like Man Utd and Chelsea who will attract a higher level of manager, there are few options available. How many jobs are likely to come up in the near future? West Brom and Norwich perhaps. We are a more attractive option that those clubs despite the owner - especially for foreign managers who often work in similar conditions. The trouble is the manager you would go for now or who would be interested in the job now is not necessarily the same one as in the Summer. There isn't time to build something - you need an immediate impact. Can a foreign manager unfamiliar with the Premier League do that?

I do wonder whether Charnley and co ever read the press and think to themselves that the reporter has a point. Or do they just believe McClaren when he tells them it will all be OK in the end. And because Charnley, Ashley and Bishop are not football people, are they able to spot the signs that the coach s struggling?
-
I guess we don't really know how much influence the other coaches have - does McClaren listen to them. I have read on a couple of occasions that Cathro is disillusioned with his role.
-
Don't we usually get beat after we've been away on these trips?
-
I guess this is the reason why. From NUFC.com The lack of rage directed towards McClaren is a sign of fans becoming resigned to their fate, mirroring the indifference of many players. Repeat watching of this dross does eventually break your spirit. Genuine anger at our plight isn't to be found in the stands, with tickets taken by stoics, pisspots and lunatics. Ranting malcontents have stood aside, to be replaced by increasing numbers of young lads, daft enough to turn out at this time for those prices.
-
Hughton was sacked for siding with the players in a bonus dispute. Football didn't even enter the equation, just as it never does with our managerial appointments and departures. He was probably also very cheap to sack.
-
How many apologies from the club now? Pretty pointless when they repeat such performances on a regular basis. They will have forgotten all about it by the next game anyway so don't expect much of a response.
