I'm worried that we are going to have half the season with only Gouffran, Shola and Campbell to choose from upfront. We seem to be nowhere near signing anyone atm and I can't see this bollocks with Cisse being resolved.

But doesn't Ashley also own the holding company? So in essence he owes himself that amount? I'm confused. Bottom line. If Ashley leaves then he can ask for that money back which is putting off potential suitors? Correct? Yes. What does the club owe him I forget 250 million or something, so he's looking for the value of the club plus what hes owed, probably putting the price at 350-400 million, which is obviously no where near what we are worth. If some Billionaire wants to buy a club, he buy a shit one for 50 million quid invest 300 million and they'll be challenging for the title or at least champions league. Buy us have to invest another 200 million to get us challenging for the league.

The only way we will sell him is if we get his full market value. Say what you like about Ashley but he won't ever be taken for a mug in the transfer market. But at what point does Ashley decide paying Cisse wages without him playing is worse than copping a hit of a few million on a transfer fee? And before anyone suggests NOT paying Cisse (i.e. continuously fining him for refusing to play), just image how that might play out in the court of public opinion... they'd be within their rights to since by refusing to play he's in breach of contract, can't expect to get the massive wages he gets without actually doing your job Are you sure about that? Personally, I think a good lawyer might make a decent case that an employer cannot take action against an employee for making a moral stand, especially when they had no input in the decision-making process that led to the morally objectionable outcome. I'm not taking a side here, and I don't know how UK industrial relations legislation works, but I'm certain a good lawyer could make a good case, and all the while Ashley is paying squillions in legal fees while the case is being played out in the courts and in the media. I don't believe it's as cut and dried as you have suggested. It's fairly straight forward it's illegal to force anyone to do anything at work that goes against their religious beliefs. If they aren't careful Cisse could piss off for free as they are in breach of employment law ergo in breach of contract. Meaning Cisse should be able to just leave without a fee if he chooses to.

What strikes me is they are trying to follow our policy of recruitment apparently but they are not. It is interesting when you see the media portray us as unearthing these gems through Carr but when we sign someone for the first team I know who they are, generally very well thought of in their respective leagues. To me seems they have signed a load of complete unknowns. I haven't heard of most of their signings but I'm not saying they'll be good or bad, just saying they don't seem to have any form of proven record for the most part that would infer they may be good enough for the premier league. They could all turn out to be superstars but realistically they'll be lucky if one or 2 of them are good enough Altidore (who we know is not good enough) and Giacherini aside.

would love to see Santon on the wing. Basically negates his weaknesses, and he will naturally track back and cover his full back. Looked v.good there against Wigan absolutely rinsed their full back Yep, naturally track back...if there is one thing i associate with Santon, its his tracking back. The speed at which he rushes to track back... I dont mean it in a dickish way tbh, but the one criticism i have is that when he runs forward, he just walks back, even when the opposition is attacking Perhaps, but as he's been played primarily as a FB I'm sure it wont be hard to get him to track back when he's playing as a winger. With more freedom to roam he's at least going to offer more protection than a Marveux though. I take your point but I think he'd be fine. You are right in that he looked great against Wigan there, on the right too as a conventional winger! I guess we will see, but i feel sometime others are a bit too quick to jump on the "convert attacking full back to winger" bandwagon because of Bale. Roberto Carlos and Cafu stayed as full backs and were great He was a winger converted to fullback by Mourinho I believe. I think wing is his natural position but Mourinho saw he had decent positional sense and great tracking back so moved him to fullback. Imo if he played wing he'd be what Jonas should be as a winger with a strong work rate and defensively minded.

Bullshit, he wore a Virgin Money shirt last season, they lend money for profit, he's just being a twat looking for more money or a way out.
-
Maybe Ashley has sanctioned this so he doesn't have to sanction any signings, if everyone is 100% fit for every game we need no more players and a squad of only 12 players. 11 Starters and one to replace Tiote when he suspended.

To be fair there is bollocks all to write about. Can't remember such a boring summer transfer window. We aren't even linked with many players other than Bent and Remy.
-
And we never will if you play him out wide. I'd like to see him as part of a 3 man midfield with license to break whenever he wishes, though by Pardew's quotes that isn't going to happen as by law you are only allowed to play 2 players in central midfield at any one time as he states.
-
All too predictable. NUFC bid for young keeper, lets link current young keeper to a team with cash/dodgy keeper Didn't Given used to get linked with them every transfer window?
-
Plays blinding there tbf.

Neither has Shola, scored shitloads of important goals

Krul Debuchy. Colo. mbiwa Santon Tote Cabaye. Sissoko Ben arfa. Gouffran New striker

Just turned the tv on saw him being interviewed at first I thought they'd appointed him as manager. They should have just retitled Graham Carr's role.
-
Must not have realised that he has been wearing a virgin money shirt all season. I am fairly sure they give out loans
-
DIRTY LEEDS Dirty Leeds were absolutely fucked financially with players practically bought on HP. Yep like we were ran under Big Fred

DIRTY LEEDS

Wish he'd just fuck off the prick, he won't though cause he's a shameless wanker and probably thinks in 25 years hell be retiring after winning 15 league titles with us.
-
To be fair to the lad, he's not a bad keeper. Ridiculous stuff today but his game isn't bad, he's not got the experience a keeper of his age should have but in terms of ability he's a good number 2.
-
He'll be sacked I reckon, Ashley doesn't like people fucking around with 100 million quid of his money. Irrespective of him being mates with Llambias Ashley won't let him stay.
