We need to focus on youth, it's been what we've been crying out for, for years. We've got enough experienced players at the club to bring them through, Butt, Beye, Nolan etc but we need more in their early 20's and a few more youth team players. That way we may not improve a great deal for a year or 2 but when we do we'll actually be able to do something with young hungry players.

Aye, can't see us getting Elano and to be honest I wouldn't envisgae shearer playing anything other than 442 with 2 out and out wingers as the main formation.

Players go through dips in form and when that happens their price does the same, no suprise really. It's not exactly in the hole though is it, in that system you have three other attackers, in your system you have 1, do you want us to play more defensively than Bolton did under Allardyce?

Yep, I'd say it's more our midfield than anything, you watch other teams and rarely see 4 attackers breaking on the back 4 with no midfield support, we see this 3/4/5 times a game, the midfield does not have the energy levels to do this and they give the ball away far too often. Everytime we win the ball punting it up for their defenders to win does not help. But of course professional football pundits can't see this despite watching more football than any of us, are they just mentally retarded?

Who was that bloke who set up Lovenkrands? Nolan's not an old player and there is no doubt that at Bolton (when he played in this position, behind Davies), he was a very good player. Fair enough, his form dipped towards the end of his time there but i'd suggest doing something completely unheard of in recent years at Newcastle.... coach him. Providing we could get him fit and confident again, then that is what i would do. A couple of assists in one game (where he was otherwise anonymous IMO) and suddenly he's the kind of player we should base the team's attacking intent around? I'll agree to disagree on this one, because I'm at an absolute loss for words. So Nolan's s*** and has always been s***? Or do players turn s*** overnight dave? Johnson and Tuncay from Boro, no one else really. I think this summer we need an entire new midfield a full back a centre forward, its not gonna be cheap but it needs to be done. I'd like to see Skjelbred as one of those DM-5m AM-5M Utility Fullback -2-3M Young centrehalf - 3m Striker-10M RW-5M LW-5M. So we need 30-40m which is not going to happen so we'll have another season of struggle or mediocrity.

Wormy you seem like the kind of guy who likes to play football. It's not at a professional standard or anything and probably half the players can't run. If you can walk fast for 90 mins and know how to kick a ball you'll be more than good enough.
