Aye as long as Beye is still 1st choice.

Yeah, the name of the site will have to change to Newcastle-Online-Featuring-Spurs.com soon. To be honest, and I'm not having a go at anyone, but I don't really see why you would want to consistently post on another clubs site unless you are playing said side soon or buying a player from them. I have met quite a few Spurs Fans with work and I couldn't talk about football to them after a while because it started to piss me off how little they knew about other teams and the game in general and their delusion of grandeur (at least thats what it would be called if we did it). Maybe it's just because they are Cockneys and maybe there are some decent Spurs fans out there but I'm yet to meet one.

Agreed. I'd rather have Bramble back. They both make errors but Brambles all round game is superior.
-
the other Diarra who play the same position(Alou Diarra) looks a very good player but now that Bordeaux have got in to the CL I don`t think he`d be looking to leave unfortunately (not that we`ve shown any interest in him anyway) What about the other one Mahamadou Diarra. It's funny how they all have the same surname and they are all defensively minded midfielders, maybe Diarra means Defensive Midfielder in some language.

We should have bought him when we had the chance but didn't he want like 80K per week or something stupid.
-
Yes. We must be massive then since we have.
-
Not so sure it's true about the age thing, they where willing to finance Woodgate and he's about that age iirc.
-
cool, i'll tell Levy. Sweet. Tell him Turan, Dunne and Gomis are useless as well.
-
You don't have to tell us you're in for anyone we are interested in. We already know.
-
Maybe he'll look at what's happened to Berbatov's reputation when he came here for a similar sized club.

EDIT: Posted the wrong article http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/football/newcastle/latest/display.var.2282732.0.keegan_told_bid_for_turan_is_4_5m_short.php

Would have thought with Hughton going we would be watching defenders? Why, is he just the Assistant Manager of the defence now? no but he isnt assistant manager at all yes he is "NEWCASTLE United assistant boss Chris Hughton has revealed the secret behind the Kevin Keegan-led renaissance" http://www.journallive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2008/05/03/keegan-s-brought-back-fun-at-united-61634-20856679/

as would Dean Windass if he had Lennon's pace.

True. Transfers don't work like they used to anyway. If you buy someone you generally pay the balance of the transfer over the period of the players contract. Michael Owen being an example. For Michael Owen we are basically paying 208000 Sterling per week if the figures are to be believed. So its entirley possible aclub like Portsmouth could afford to do that with Campbell. It's no different to him being on 50k per weeek with a fee of 5m. Think you are confusing paying for a player and recognising the cost of the player in the accounts there No I'm not. Alot of transfers are conducted like that. Real Madrid still owed us money for woodgate when we got Owen so they knocked it off the fee. Edit: Also I believe you are talking about player amortisation which is not what you said. Each year you have to estimate the depreciation on the players value. I hope to god you are not an accountant, fundamentally wrong I'm afraid Good job I'm not. I just read it off a website that's absolute bollocks. I checked another one and found myself to look like a retard for that post. Still maintain my point about the way transfers are conducted.

load of steaming bollocks imho. Berbs wanted to add this clause when he was negiotiating a new contract and Levy straight away rejected it, so i fail to see why we'd agree one for Modric. because you want to defend Spurs on a Newcastle board? It's hardly like you are an impartial observer here on issues like this one. Not about defending spurs. It's logic.... Where's the logic? It's a completely unsubtantiated claim. Its clear Modric has been told where to go - I'm basing that on the fact that he wasnt here when we were negotiaing with the Mamic brothers then swiftly signed for Spurs. Add to the fact we offered more money to the Mamic brothers and more money to Modric and you still wouldn't be able to see that there were obviously something in the Spurs deal which made them turn a blind eye to immediate extra cash from us....i see the logic in what James said, seems perfectly viable to me. Ok here's the logic bit.... two months or so, before the Modric deal, Berbs' piece of turd agent tries to include a minimum release clause in his contract, to which Levy calls of negotiations (this was widely reported in various papers and sites). The club then sing a totally different tune, and Poyet and co seem like they dont give a toss if Berbs leaves in interviews ect, after pleading with him to stay a while back. So now you're saying, Levy would just totally do a u-turn and give another player a minimum fee release clause, even though he didnt want to give one to our prized asset? rightttttttttttt. Ramos also tried to sign Modric at Sevilla and Modric has said how much he rates him, plus London, plus Uefa cup.... His agents make the decisions on where he goes. Agents like money, agents don't give 2 flying F***s about a players happiness, Newcastle offered more etc...

I think they are spending on the basis they'll be champions league side next year. Could go horribly wrong......... or right if you hate them like I do.

Because he'll probably play more games than Emre and Duff together would.

Work Permit? that would be days. more likely just the way transfers are done thse days. Yeah transfers do take longer nowadays but work permits take longer at this time of year as well. they know he'll get a work permit so that would be the last thing to tie up. the deal could be complete before getting it. i'm fairly sure many deals have been tied up before a work permit has been granted (in some cases knocked back then appealed) I think they sign the contracts with a clause in saying the contract will become leaglly binding upon the issue of a valid work permit. I recall that happening with Alves at Boro. I saw a program on how deals are conducted nowadays not sure how accurate it was but they said they wen't like this.. You make a bid, the fee is then generally negotiated which takes a while and during this period the selling club makes the bid public to atrract bigger offers, the player/agents will then travel across to one or more clubs for discussions, a contract is then offered after negiotiations, the agent will then generally tell his client to go away and think about it whilst he tells the other clubs interested of the package (roughly) to see whether they will match it and the player will join a club
