  1. Aye but that's tomorrow. Worry about that when the alarm goes off!!
  2. they can't. All darlow had to do was shout 'LEAVE IT' and goal avoided
  3. The money was clearly there. Rafa was given a £30m transfer budget and generated a further £30m of transfer profit on top of that. Even the biggest Ashley apologist can't go down that route. Just because we made a transfer profit doesn't mean there is money in the club. I think the club is experiencing cash flow problems. The fact that Ashley had to put £33m in to 'offset the cost of relegation' suggests precisely that.
  4. You'd think he'd be furious with Carr after the cash wasted on the likes of Cabella, Thauvin, Saivet, DeJong, Colback etc.
  5. It probably was paid in installments. They would still have to pay all the installments whether they sold him or not though I was under the impression in recent years that we'd insisted on cash up front for all sales. Could be wrong.
  6. Unless the rumours about the Sissoko fee being paid over instalments was actually correct?
  7. im afraid we'd be the same in truth, we have to just take it mate its part of the hatred, i do predict a lot of disorder in the return fixture next march.i can see hell on in town before and after the match regardless of the result I am old enough to remember more than 3 years ago and what i saw we really werent the same at all. The minor fact that they dont dominate our every waking thought means after the laughter we moved on reasonably quickly. I sure as hell dont remember seeing endless photos of our fans holding fingers up to say we won 5 in a row either. I don't think many of us realised we had won 5 in a row until Sunderland did it. I don't think many of us cared. Pfft. Anyone who didn't care is a godamned mackem. 9-1, FTM, SIAR. Watch ya LETTERBOX!

I don't think many of us cared. We went nigh on 30 years unbeaten down there and didn't bat an eyelid. Aye it was nice to beat them but for a large part of the 90's and 00's we had far bigger fish to fry. We've always been the biggest fish to them.
  9. They're not known as Sad Mackem Bastards for nowt
  10. Whoever made the decision to spunk over £10m on Thauvin when there were other areas in the squad that desperately needed attention should be held accountable. Baffling decision - same as the signing of Darlow and Lascelles 2 seasons ago when we were fucking desperate for a forward. I didn't want McClaren and I'm yet to be convinced by him, but I suspect he has minimal input on signings, board member or not. Sacking him wouldn't change the fact that we have a huge hole in our squad at centre half and central midfield.
  11. Canny ridiculous to say it denied us a win seeing as we didn't score a goal. One of the 3-0s at home, all the excuses were about Cisse being ruled offside for a goal. Does no other team get a bad decision against sunderland, seeing as it's only us that they absolutely thrash consistently? Sick of hearing the excuses. Precisely. It wasn't one bad decision, it was a succession culminating with Cattermole somehow not getting booked and us with 10 men. We were the better team until the fluke 2nd goal and then it fell apart, pull yourselves together ffs. Mojo, me and you get on and I think you're a smashing lad but I this is one of the occasions me and you often arrive at where it's obvious we're gonna take opposing views. I believe in football you make your own luck and if you're going to lace your team with inexperience, defensive incompetence, no leadership and no proven goalscorer you're asking to be utterly bitten in the arse with decisions from time to time. Love you too Ron, but I just can't take that today. They were nothing, not that we were great, they were just nothing until they had the game handed to them. The inexperience you talk of is also pretty much all we have to love at the club with Mitro, Perez, Chancel etc. They didn't deserve that today imo. Also, following the bolded point, what does our choice of recruitment have to do with awful ref decisions? I think the point he's making is that if we had a centre half capable of reading the game properly then the ball is mopped up and the ref has no decision to make.
  12. Feel strangely calm. Player for player we've better than them in most positions.
  13. We warned you Palace fans but you didn't listen. The rot has set in.
  14. So does all their players seemingly I think it's more a case that ours don't.
  15. Aye. They're going to be lumping balls into our box every chance they get and Dummett is far better suited than Haidara whose had some real stinkers so far this season. Out of the two, Dummett is the better defender.
  16. Aye. This was a problem pretty much the entire time Pardew was here. Before he turned up, we had just smashed them 5-1 at our place under Hughton when we just played our own game, which we were never allowed to do under Pardew. It's the coolest heads that usually prevail in these games. McClaren needs to sit Mitrovic down and warn him that their fans and players will be targeting him from the off. If he wants to react, do it by putting the ball in the back of their net. Not by biting Cattermole's head off. Tiote is the same, he's an accident waiting to happen on Sunday. I think we can beat these. We're due a bit of luck too.
  17. An email from Keith Bishop under the Pseudonym of Lee Charnley is hardly an improvement in communications. I wonder if McClaren will come out this afternoon with a handwritten letter like Carver did last year with that Coloccini bullshit?
  18. He'll probably pick up an apocalyptic injury in training before the weekend. It's how we roll.
  19. Very true. Our champs league games under Bobby comprised of centre half combinations of Bramble. O'Brien, Dabizas and Caldwell. It's about retaining possession and not having to defend like the fucking alamo because we don't have the players up field who are capable of keeping the ball and hurting the opposition. Hopefully Thauvin can help in this regard.
  20. watching from the stands by all accounts
