If we're looking at out of form forwards wonder why we're not sniffing around Llorente? He's out of contract in June. He's 6' 5 as well so i'm sure Pardew would have a wet patch thinking about all that 'direct play' we could justify.

Thought he was great at Lazio. Was the kind of player that someone like Robbie Savage could completely take out of the game though

Wish we could have found a way for him to stay and for the team to function at it's best. Can't begrudge him a move there though. Greatly appreciate the goals he scored and how he contributed from the LW last season (2nd half of it).

Think i'd agree. Ferguson does seems to have a peach of a cross but that's not the 1st attribute you look for in a defender. Tav seems more of an athlete and a bit more natural in his positioning.

Might be better if he moves on and gives Tav a place as cover and a more than occasional start.

Getting into the semis could get us a european place for next season. Something we are unlikely to achieve through the league. Players like Cabaye, Debuchy, Tiote, HBA, Cisse, Santon & whatever good CF we may sign will want to be playing in europe. Also maintains the profile of the club.

I don't think our players were significantly worse than Everton's, far from it, actually. It's how they are used that's the problem. Everton were at full strength last night, they had no-one out That makes a massive difference I'd say they had 3 or 4 outfield players on the pitch that probably wouldn't get into our team.
