Do you honestly believe we’re going to sign 11 players in the summer?
-
Also, if Howe stays then I think the chances of a ‘major rebuild’ are very slim. Eddie likes continuity and there’s very few players he will accept because the exacting physical demands he requires.
-
I’d hazard a guess this is a huge factor. The mental as well as physical fatigue of playing so many games. We don’t have the squad for it. Or the mindset tbh. I also think our most successful style is when we’re just outrunning teams. That’s always going to be incredibly hard to do for 55-60 games a season (if we get CL again). Even with a better squad, you can’t rotate everyone every other match.

Burn looks like he's struggling a bit to me. Not sure Botman would be any better tbh given he's just come back.

Dat pay off

C. Ronaldo has come close too….

The laziest performance I can remember was Messi walking about while Germany won the World Cup.

Tbf, even Gordon’s been called lazy this season. Never thought Isak was lazy, just didn’t have the engine. Personally, I’d prefer our strikers to not lose all the explosiveness in their legs from pressing, reserve it for attempts on goal. However, that has not been EH’s route to success. Haven’t seen enough of Wissa to have any opinion about him.

What a finish! Bossed it (as he should).

I think when you're a creative player, some of your shine is dependent on the players you're creating for. Wolt should've had an assist because Murphy should've scored. I think Osula looks near impossible to play with when he's at CF. He's so erratic, how can you what ball to play into him and when? There wasn't a connection with Barnes and perhaps that was a let down.

That Qarabag keeper will have a year left on his deal come the summer. Wouldn’t mind him as a back up.

people love a bit of hyperbole

Also don’t get some of the responses here. People complain that some posters only pop and complain when we lose. We won and some people have pointed out Elenga didn’t threaten much against what is probably the worst defence we'll play against all season. They get shouted down. So, if he’s not had a good game you can’t say if we lose and you can’t say if we’ve won. We had a fantastic result. I’m ecstatic with it. Fair to say Elanga’s contribution to that were minimal.

Was gonna say, Neave moved about like he actually had an idea in mind…
-
He ran around a lot more than I thought he would. Primarily because Hall was desperate to play LW. Burn had lots of ground to cover.
-
He wasn’t any good but I don’t think he was poor. For all Barnes’ huffing and puffing he didn’t do anything productive either. Thought Trips was a bit all over the place which may have distracted Elanga a bit.
-
Aye….i know he needed a yellow but that looked personal ..
-
Not really into bigging up young players based on very little actual performance but I genuinely thought he looked more useful than Osula.
-
I’d bet a wage he’d scuff it.

He said in his interview he wants to turn us into a more possession based side that opens teams up. But he also said we were back to our best with our high press and forcing turnovers further up the pitch. Guess that’s the problem! Feels like we’re in between 2 ethe. We did both well tonight. Very happy for him and the coaching team.

If he hit his shots from open play like he does his pens he’ll score a bucketful.

Don’t remember thinking Wirtz was a great dribbler or quick when watching him in the Bundesliga but could’ve been wrong. Brandt looked a better all round player to me both physically and skill set but he’s mentality and decision making has always looked suspect (imo).
