  1. In fairness, we've been infinitely better in the second half Would be hard not to be. The Zog was the only useful person. N'Zogbia has been awful.

  3. You guys have been playing some terrible stuff for the two matches Ive seen. Lucky to get a point against us, and looking really lucky to get even one point even if it looks like youll get all 3. You sound as if you think you're telling me something I don't already know. Preaching to the converted.
  4. To be quite honest, if we hold on to this and end up fifth tonight, it says a hell of a lot more about the PL than it does Aston Villa.
  5. yep. He's got a very high pitch screaming voice. he sounds like Noddy Holder at the start of Merry Christmas Everyone where he screams ITS CHRISTMAS
  6. If DJ Campbell comes on, I'm having money on him to score against us.
  7. Tyler just said "dominant force" FIFA tastic.
  8. Still, much better this half so far.
  9. He only got the job because of his cup win - his league form has consistently been poor. No, he got the job because he was the only manager prepared to work unded the shitty financial controls imposed by our chairman. s*** poor management from above, I'm afraid. I always find it mental that they wouldn't finance O'Neill but they gave Houllier £24m + They were right to pull the plug on MON. We're still suffering from the crippling wage bill he lumbered us with. I just saw Habib Beye, age 35, 40k a week on the bench, That's a depressing reminder. I wish Houllier had stayed, he was at least getting us playing football towards the end.

  11. We've appointed a manager who has sent us to QPR to play for a draw. It's a disgrace. That midfield has got plenty of passing ability, but the ball's going over their heads. It really is anti-football shite, and if he persists with it, he'll be gone by Christmas
  12. I've been going since 1973, and I am sat here tonight trying to think of a time when I came home from a match more depressed. I came up with Villa 0 - Man City 5 under Venglos Villa 0 - Forest 5 in about 1984 and then I started to struggle. First shot on 87 minutes, from a CB. Full strength team, largely, against Bolton reserves, and yet again our midfield got totally owned.
  13. I paid five pounds for my ticket tonight and that shite was not worth anything like that much.
  14. Probably anywhere between 7th and 12th, I reckon. He's made us hard to beat, which is something we'd started to do at the end of last season, and he's carried on. We've lost one of our last 15 league games. That's good. The problem is, midfield is all wrong. N'Zogbia hasn't settled yet, Petrov is too old to be bombing back and forth, and Albrighton is still suffering from his lack of confidence he had at the end of last season. It depends what Jenas offers - yeah, yeah, I know, I know - and we'll see how it pans out till January. I honestly think there's about 12 PL sides who could could position randomly in an end of season table, in positions 6 or 7 down, and it wouldn't really surprise anybody. I don't mind McLeish, really. He seems a decent enough bloke, and I honestly could not give a flying one if he used to manage Blues. I'm more concerned about his two relegations there. The thing he has got to do, though, is get us playing. it is great that Richard Dunne and even Warnock have been so successfully revived, but he's taken over a much better squad of players than he had at Blues, and he has got to get them playing some football. it is very early days yet, so he gets the benefit of the doubt. If the current efficiency without spark thing is just him fumbling around to get things right, then I'm cool with that. If, on the other hand, this is his plan, then I am considerably less cool with it. Of course, the irony is that, although we're uninspiring to watch, we're not much different to the way we were at home under MON for at least three years.
  15. The other thing is, this season AM seems to have decided that he wants to use Petrov as a box to box midfielder, which he patently is not any more. For over a year now, he's looked fucked after 60 minutes, he clearly has not got the legs in him to get forward so much. This then leaves Delph to try and hold the ball in the middle. Now, Delph is a good young player, but those roles should be reversed. Doing it this way is asking for trouble.
  16. Nowt - didn't go, didn't see the highlights either, so am just going on what I've read, which is that our central midfield was feeble again and Tiote and the-other-bloke bossed it. Still unbeaten, though. I think I'm falling out of love with football. I seem totally detached from it all this season. Bannan looked canny. He is. The only thing that gives me any encouragement of late (beyond the kind of "oh well, we won't go down, we won't play in the CL, but it could be worse" type) is that some of the kids look quite decent. I keep saying this, but Gary Gardener will get his break this season and will prove to be the best of the lot.

  18. I was right behind the goal as Ronnie Rosenthal missed his sitter, and that Torres one honestly looks worse. Made more so by the fact he'd done so well to get into that position in the first place. Incredible.
  19. They charge away fans the price of the most expensive ticket for home fans, I believe, which is in line with the PL law that you're not allowed to charge more than that. You're right, though, it is a rip off. It won't make you feel better, but my mate has bought a ticket just along from my ST in the Upper Trinity and it cost him 43 notes, too. What's more, as I stumped out 580 quid for my ST, I'll be taking a long, hard look at the ticket prices this season. What they've effectively done is conduct a summer transfer and manager acquisition period of such utter, utter fucking ineptitude, that they have effectively driven a big wooden stake through the last remaining vestiges of hope at the club. Season ticket sales are down 8,000. They have massively, massively underestimated the fans reaction to appointing McLeish, too. An aura of doom hangs around the whole place. This is the sort of ineptitude we're dealing with. After appointing AM, they realised how much they'd annoyed people, and wrote to previous ST holders to try and gee them up. Here's the text. Spot the glaring ommission. Well, actually, I'll point it out. Not a single mention of on-field aims, of football intentions, of trying to compete. Not one. It reads like a letter to shareholders. I know a few people who were wavering on renewing, got this badly thought out nonsense, and knocked the idea right on the head as a result. The letter makes it sound like we're meant to cheer being one of the top 20 money raking clubs in Europe.
  20. *chuckle* of course, you do realise that now I've said all that, it'll be a 14 goal thriller, don't you? You reckon you'll score one then? No :-(

  22. How are your bairns coming on? Clark, Bannan & Delfounso, etc...... McLeish has been inexplicably playing Heskey as an attacking midfielder (no, seriously), but he's fortunately injured, which means Bannan will start on Saturday. I think Bannan is going to be a quality player. Delfouneso is the one I don't think will make it. Gary Gardner is the one I really, really want to see get his break as soon as possible, as he's the best of the lot.
  23. 43 quid? Jesus fucking Christ. I heard Wolves fans complaining about us charging them a fortune too the other week. I'll let you have some nice pubs to go to if you're looking for somewhere away from beer-throwing mongs in the Cap and Gown.
