  1. It's a great film but I'd rather we showed him a DVD about NUFC. http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTtaVSMe0QwNK81uy1VJAyw98pesyRp0nPbS09sv6C2C-Uao9ln
  2. He'd still have to sit out his ban on his return though, in loaning him out you're putting off something which will eventually happen. Fair enough. I wasn't 100% sure how the ban would work if he went abroad. I thought he could be abroad for 15 games and then come back and play.
  3. If they can't/won't sack him, QPR may as well loan Barton abroad for the first half of the season if he gets a 10 to 15 game ban. As far as I know, an English FA ban would not apply if he went to play in a foreign league. I'd imagine for example, one of the top Turkish clubs would be interested in loaning him.
  4. 'Lucky' as in not all the leagues get 4 places. For example, Italy don't any more unless I'm mistaken. The Champions League kept expanding to include more of the top teams. 5 teams from one league would be a joke.
  5. Originally it was only the Champions of each league who qualified for the Champions League (hence the name). The Premier League can consider itself lucky to have 4 Champions League places never mind wanting any more places.
  6. http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/wigan-athletic-2012-13-season-tickets-under-5-s-free-under-11-s-50-under-16-s-85-1222186 http://www.wiganlatics.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10429~2772104,00.html Amazing prices but their ground will still have huge numbers of empty seats next season.
  7. Tavernier is currently on the NUFC Reserve team tour in Hong Kong. The squad is: Jak Alnwick, James Tavernier, Paul Dummett, Lubo Satka, Steven Logan, Brandon Miele, Bradden Inman, Marcus Maddison, JJ Hooper, Adam Campbell. I'd be surprised if any of those players are leaving. http://www.nufc.co.uk/articles/20120515/eastern-promise-for-united_2281670_2773485
  8. The Adebayor loan really annoyed me. If a player is loaned to another team then that team should have to pay that player's wages in full. We'd have been stuck with Smith and Xisco but at least Spurs wouldn't have got Adebayor. Young players need game experience. They'd get that if 'top' teams were stopped from buying up lower league club's youth players and then not playing them.
  9. Think the leniency shout is considering the ref showed leniency to Tiote literally about 4 times when he could have been sent off, then gave your bench the nod to sub him as if it was a pre-season charity game. Anyway, nothing against you lads but I was delighted with shoving Pardew's words down his throat yesterday. Really can't stand the smarmy f***er and his twattish comments about us going back to some embarrassing stuff he came out with in his West Ham days. Did our team talk on Friday with his "another level" dig. At least from your perspective the result didn't matter for CL in the end anyway. Good support and was surprised a lot seemed to stay to clap our players on their lap of the pitch? Fair play for that like. I wouldn't do it. Pardew's words about Everton were taken out of context and used by Everton supporters and the media as a slur against the Everton team. When he said "Forget about Everton and Aston Villa, we have put ourselves in a similar position to Arsenal" he was referring to other clubs coming to buy players off NUFC. He was referring to the fact that we are financially secure as Arsenal are. If a club wants to buy off us we don't have to sell to balance the books so they better come with a massive bid if they want our players. Everton and Aston Villa aren't flush with cash as I understand it. Grabbing someone by the throat isn't the same as robust tackles. Anyway, Heitinga should have gone for his two footed challenge long before Tiote fouled anyone.
  10. http://sport.uk.msn.com/football/everton-appeal-against-cahill-red Everton are to appeal Cahill's red card! On what grounds? Moyes thinks the ref should have shown leniency? I bet he wouldn't have that view if it had been Cabaye who had grabbed Cahill by the throat.

The Mackem who presents BBC Look North said "Is that Red?" when describing our new Burgundy away shirt. He said it in a "Mags wearing Red which is a SAFC colour. FTM!" tone.
  12. Mackems saying Cabaye assaulted the ball boy. Still, it's a good job Barton went mental as I'm sure MOTD would have made a big fuss about Cabaye.
  13. If they sack him could he not play abroad? An FA ban wouldn't count outside of England. I could see him playing in Turkey!
  14. A Chelsea win would be funny as it would stop Spurs qualifying for the Champions League next season. A Bayern win would be funny as it would stop Chelsea qualifying for the Champions League next season. It's a win win situation for me.
  15. Crooks "A word for that man there. He's put his money where his mouth is!"
  16. A huge deflection on their first goal and a blatant hand ball in the lead up to the second. On top of that we've been very poor.
  17. Following on from Pardew's BBC Radio Newcastle interview it now looks highly likely that Guthrie is leaving and probably Simpson too. Based on that: - Alan Smith - Contract ending and definitely leaving. Peter Lovenkrands - Contract ending and extremely unlikely to be offered a new contract. Leon Best - One year to go on current contract and rumoured that he will be sold. Danny Guthrie - Contract ending. Rumoured to have been offered a new contract but wants first team football. Highly likely he'll leave. Danny Simpson - One year to go on current contract. Has been offered a new contract but hasn't signed it. Likely to be sold. Nile Ranger - Likely to be sold. Fraser Forster - Stalling on signing full time with Celtic. Likely to be sold or loaned out again as he wants first team football. Steve Harper - One year to go on contract. Has had injury problems this season. Doing his coaching badges. Xisco - One year to go on contract. Likely to be loaned out again as no other club would pay the wages he's supposedly on. This list obviously doesn't include any 'shock' sales of our top players.
  18. NUFC put a £2m purchase clause option in Forster's loan contract to Celtic. Forster has said previously that he wants to start every game. He doesn't want to stay at NUFC and play second fiddle to Krul.
  19. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/football/spl/celtic/2012/05/12/neil-lennon-fraser-forster-can-star-for-celtic-and-england-86908-23856253/ http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/sport/spl/4311865/Lenny-raps-Fraser-Forsters-agent.html Sounds like Forster is still dragging his heels on committing to Celtic. I don't blame him. He's won the Scottish Championship so there's not much left to win there. With Rangers screwed the Scottish League has gone from a 2 club league to a 1 club league. If he wants to be challenged he won't stay at Celtic.
  20. Seems to go on even after the 2 hour bar..... Yes but Mick Lowes asks John Carver for a final word on Pardew and it ends before Carver speaks.
  21. Annoying how the end of the interview is missing off the BBC iPlayer.
  22. Any Bundesliga followers know how Tranquillo Barnetta has been playing since returning from his injury? We've been linked to him in previous transfer windows and I believe he is a free agent in the Summer. What position/s does he play?
