  2. Krancjar had surgery on his ankle today. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/p/portsmouth/7584515.stm
  3. I'm pretty sure Milner doesn't have an agent. There was a piece on MOTD last season which showed the PFA negotiating a new contract with NUFC on behalf of Milner. Do I win a prize for knowing that? Anyway, reading that PFA statement, it sounds like the PFA advised Milner to hand in a transfer request to try to force through a pay rise. If the PFA didn't think the 4 year contract was good enough to sign they should have advised Milner of that. Sounds like the PFA are just as bad as agents. I don't think Milner really wants to go and this ploy has backfired on him by NUFC releasing the statement. The only reason the PFA wouldn't want the 'Milner handing in a transfer request' going public will be because of the stick the fans will give him. Also, the PFA try to screw more money out of NUFC for their player when they know there is a worldwide credit crunch on and that for the first time in ages NUFC had less than 48K at a home match.
  4. really??? 27? Born 25 October 1981. 26 then and 10 months.
  5. Surprising fact is that Shaun Wright-Phillips is 27 years old. I'd be a bit worried about buying another Chelsea reject who has barely played for the last few years. I'd rather we bought cheaper from abroad.
  6. Is Ronaldo (the Brazilian one) a free agent now? When is he due to recover from his injury? I see Man City were linked with him on Sky Sports Transfer rumours.

  8. Surprised but if he doesn't want to be here he can go (if we get that £9m+ off Aston Villa for him). Hopefully Liverpool will be interested again and they can have a fight with Aston Villa over him. Why couldn't he have done this earlier in the transfer window to give us time to sort out a replacement? Why couldn't Alan Smith hand in a transfer request? This last week of the transfer window is going to have to be very busy for all Premier League clubs or there will be a lot of disappointed people around.

    Andy Gray

I was on holiday in the US during Euro 2008 and caught some of the games on ESPN. Andy Gray was bound to look good compared to the other morons they had commentating. There was an older Irish guy who was a total embarrassment to himself (any US based people know who it was?). Hearing them talk about PK's (penalty kicks) and all that crap. It's probably like British commentators trying to talk about Baseball.
  10. Isn't it funny how every meeting Keegan has with Mike Ashley is a "Crisis meeting", "Crunch talks" or a "Summit meeting" according to the media. It's also funny how Keegan said that the meeting was with himself, Ashley and Llambias yet the media think Wise will be there too. It's funniest of all though that the media seem to think they know what is said in these meetings even though the only people there are the likes of Keegan, Ashley and Llambias. Whose the mole who keeps leaking all the details? That's right, no one because the media make it all up.
  11. Sadly i agree. I think he's being slightly over hyped by a few. When he gets the opportunity to cross he is very good but i think i remember him crossing the ball once last night. He wasn't playing out wide though last night. Good point but i don't think i saw one cross againt Bolton either. I like the guy, don't get me wrong but for someone with such a good cross he doesn't so it often enough. Still plenty of time for that to change. That's what I was saying. From what I've seen of him so far, I like him and I'm glad we've got him. The thing is, I don't think he is going to chip in many goals. I think it's wrong to compare him to Robert and Ginola. That's a lazy press comparison. He plays left wing so let's compare him to Robert and Ginola.
  12. Haha, they might as well admit that they're just stamping their feet about not knowing. That line was a total joke. Since when have non-PLC clubs had to announce how much they have spent on each transfer? I'd be happier if we got those players for peanuts. NUFC getting a bargain would be turned around by the media arseholes to NUFC haven't got any money to spend. As mentioned by Luke Edwards "the lack of communication between the club and supporters through the media (an obvious complaint of mine!)" just goes to show NUFC no longer give the press stories. Good! http://www.lukewhostalking.co.uk/2008/08/where_have_the_4000_gone.html
  13. I've seen Jonas Gutierrez compared to Robert and Ginola but with tracking back abilities. He's started well and seems to have settled into the 'English game' so far but he doesn't seem to have the offensive abilities of Robert or Ginola. He is good at running at people but doesn't seem to get into shooting positions. He isn't well known for scoring goals (4 in his time in Spain isn't it?).
  14. Think that's what he means! With Martins injured we need some fucking players in this week or this good start will count for fuck all. Yeah, I was joking. Anyway, that Saviola loan would be quite handy now, especially if Martins' injury keeps him out a while.
  15. Where could you get a striker of Ameobi's quality for £2.4m? We spent £6m on Alan Smith and he's not fit to clean Ameobi's boots when it comes to goal scoring.
  16. I think he saved the last one as well. He used to never save them. Keep it up Shay!
  17. This cannot be! The media tell us that Tottenham and Villa are fighting it out for 5th place and that Martin O'Neill is a genius.
  18. According to the BBC, as things stand, Bolton are top of the League.
  19. You'd think Smith would ask for a transfer. That's why he left Man U to come to us, to get regular games. If Everton want him surely he'd rather go there to play than sit on our bench? He wouldn't play here either when everyone is fit, even though our squad is tiny. The last rumour I heard on this was that Moyes wasn't happy with Smith's attitude and lack of willingness to drop his wage for a move to go through. The only reason I thought he would get a game at Everton was because Moyes supposedly wanted to buy him (therefore you would assume that he would want to play him).
  20. I'll be there, F5 F5, F5, lets hope the newcastle-online server can stand the pace when the 'WOW' signing is announced at 11:59 im fairly confident there will be no "wow" signing. To be fair to the club, Mike Ashley is said to have said the thing about the "Wow" signing to the corporates. Did he really say it? Who knows? It's not like he's promised it in an official club statement. I'm not expecting a wow signing either but I'll be happy if we do get one. Of the 4 we have brought in so far, the 3 who have made their debuts have started well. A few more like that would do me.
  21. So who's looking forward to sitting at their computer on the night of September the 1st pressing the refresh button every few seconds? I hope we get our signings in before then. I hate watching Sky Sports News but it's hard to resist in the last hours of the transfer window. Having said that, last time I'm sure Beye and Faye weren't announced as signed until much later in the next day.

  23. Why do Chelsea loan out their unwanted strikers rather than sell them? They also seem to loan them out until the end of their contracts. They loaned Crespo out to Internazionale and A.C. Milan. They are now looking to loan Shevchenko to A.C. Milan. Surely those top Italian clubs have the money to buy these players. Claudio Pizarro has recently joined Werder Bremen on loan. I bet he never plays for Chelsea again. I know Abramovich doesn't need the money but it doesn't make sense to me that they always seem to loan their players to the richer clubs until the players contract is up.
  24. Reminds me of a joke. What's the connection between Newcastle, Sunderland and Middlesbrough fans? They're all obsessed with Newcastle United.
