  1. The fact is Newcastle have sold season tickets off the back of Keegan being in charge. People trust Keegan to try to provide what they want. They have paid to watch Keegan produce a team who play attacking football. Who says the new manager will have the team play with that style? I'd be pissed off if I'd bought a three year season ticket only to find out what I thought I'd be watching has changed. Keegan leaving also means we're probably back to another transitional season and we've been having them since Robson was sacked.
  2. Ha ha. http://www.thegeordieconnection.com/ And he has the gall to call ANYONE an embarrassment. I thought Jeff Winter's website was the worst I'd ever seen. Now I know better. Is it just the people I've met in my time or is it always the people with the slightly wonky Geordie credentials that bang on about being a Geordie the most?
  3. The new manager will be hated from day one because of the circumstances of how they got the job. It will have to be a continental style 'coach' manager i.e. someone who doesn't mind being told which players are coming in and who is going out. Looks like the board are going to run the club the Real Madrid way. It's a shame we don't have their success.
  4. Whoever takes over is going to have a hell of a hard job getting the fans on his side. Even if we get someone who is way out of our league like Rijkaard the fans will take a long time to warm to him (if they ever do). Still, whoever does it, it's great money for however long you last (which is unlikely to be how long your contract says).
  5. Sorry if it has already been mentioned but I read (can't remember where) that Valencia had filled their allowed quota of foreign players and that is why they loaned González to us. I didn't know they had rules on the number of foreigners allowed in a team in La Liga.
  6. I believe Dyer had recovered from that leg break and got a new leg fracture in a pre-season come back game.
  7. They'll be livid if Keegan stays. They'll have been writing their stories all day about Keegan leaving. Were in for the kicking of a lifetime. Who cares though as long as Keegan and the club sort everything out?
  8. I like their testing of the water. Hmm. Real Madrid were rumoured to offer £70m to £85m for Ronaldo. Our opening bid is £135m! Christ! If there's that much money washing around can I have a couple of million? I'm sure they wouldn't even notice it's gone.
  9. Don't sweat it, did you not see the Man City fan they interviewed outside their ground? 99.9% of fans interviewed outside football grounds are an embarrassment. I wonder what he makes of the Alan Smith thread?
  10. Well if nothing else there is now a chance that we can be brought back from the brink. God knows what's happened but it sounds like Keegan has kicked off because he's not happy how things have gone and the club are now back peddling to keep him. I hope that's the case anyway!
  11. "it ain't about how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward" I don't think I can take many more NUFC related hits.
  12. Just imagine the massive positive feeling we'll get if Keegan isn't leaving. It will blow any disappointment with the transfer window clean out the water.
  13. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/newcastle_united/7593683.stm What a bunch of cunts the BBC are.
  14. The current top 4 will be shitting themselves. I can see Liverpool or Arsenal getting pushed out the top 4 in a season or two. It will be interesting to see how they cope with that. Only Chelsea will be able to pay close to what Man City can now. Man City are pretty much owned by the country of Abu Dhabi.
  15. Call a big press conference on Keegans Future..... Keegan and Ashley sat side by side. Terry Mac brings in 2 pints of Broon Ale. KK and MA down pints in unison, stand up and walk out. Job done That would be class - but I would include a two fingered salute to the press boys! I'd prefer it if they went on to urinate on the media.
  16. Please provide a link to the quote where we were promised a wow signing. I remember the unsubstantiated rumour that Mike Ashley had told the corporates that we would get a wow signing but nothing official. I doubt many clubs fans are entirely happy with their team's squad. For all we know the two new guys could have the impact of Robert and Bellamy.
  17. You do know that Xisco and Gonzalez have been confirmed on nufc.co.uk don't you?
  18. Seriously though, why would anyone buy/loan Barton now? The ban that is no doubt on the way and the bad press why would any club bother if they didn't have to (like we do)?
  19. All this talk of a 'Wow' signing was never official. It will be taken as fact and used by some people to hammer the club though.
  20. you know what, I really dont give a shit what man city are doing, let them waste £30m on Berbatov, he isn't worth anywhere near that. If their season isn't brilliant he'll just go on about his dream move to man utd, and that shitty attitude will creep in. Im only bothered what we do on this final day. And it pisses Alex 'Taggart' Ferguson off at the same time!
  21. At worst they could be loaned out to Championship clubs after today.
  22. A guy in his 70s who goes to my gym often laments that there are 'too many' black people in our team. The ironic thing is he's permanently brown from sunbed sessions.
  23. I'm spending the day with my fingers permanently crossed until midnight. Hurry up and buy him Everton so I can uncross them!
  24. Barton should just wear a Duncan Ferguson / Eric Cantona / Etc mask when he plays.
