  1. We've gone off topic here, this is the "What specifically does Matt LeBlanc not like about the food in the UK?" thread (formerly the Mikel Merino thread).
  2. My comment has taken this thread way off topic. I wanted him to elaborate. Maybe he eats at Michelin restaurants usually. Maybe he eats burgers all the time. Maybe he loves Taco Bell which we don't seem to have. Most of the other chain restaurants are here. We don't know what he's not liking. I've never had a good Indian meal in the US.
  3. It bugs me. Another thing that bugs me, Matt LeBlanc said the thing he doesn't like about the UK is the food. What's he eating or not getting here that he can get in the USA?
  4. No sun in the Winter is a myth. If anything we get more blue sky sunny days in the Winter than the Summer. No heat is more accurate.
  5. I'm all for the economic regeneration of the North East including Sunderland. More good employers in the North East would be great. If Sunderland was more successful as a city they may have less of a chip on their shoulder about the city of Newcastle. The impression I get from Sunderland is they'd rather drag the city of Newcastle down to their level rather than pull themselves up to Newcastle's level. A couple of my experiences of Sunderland sum them. I was driving home and had Sun FM on the radio for the traffic report. After the report had said their was heavy congestion in Newcastle the radio presenter said "Good!" Like he was delighted that people who live in Newcastle we're having to deal with bad traffic. I was in the Sunderland shopping centre in the Works book shop. I saw an old woman pick up a NUFC annual and snarled to herself "Newcastle? What's that doing here?".
  6. Maybe they'd welcome SAFC ceasing to exist as NUFC would never be able to play them again. That way their 6 in a row record would be safe forever. I see some of them still sign off any post on RTG with FTM. That's one of the reasons I am enjoying their fall.
  7. He had the '2 week' thigh injury when we loaned him. He was working with the physios. He aggrevated the injury. Probably came back too soon and pushed too hard. Either he was overeager or the injury was worse than diagnosed. Neither party will be happy about it.
  8. "A Sunderland fan makes a deal with the devil to beat Newcastle six in a row" - f***ing hell man   Without reading it, I imagine this would be a brief synopsis: Chapter 1: A sunderland fan makes a deal with the devil to beat Newcastle six in a row Chapters 2 - 7: Every match described in the most precise and minute detail, each given it's own chapter. Chapter 8: Errr, what was the premise of this again? Never mind, 6 in a row, FTM, horse punchas, Jordie Nashun, gravy stained....oh yeah, Satan or something. Epilogue: Haha 6 in a row, horse punchas, Jordie Nashun, gravy-stained, lol, Rafa, f*ck Islam, Britain First, EDL and FTM. The author needs to write a sequel where the Devil tells the Sunderland fan who struck the deal that it's now time to pay the price. He could base the book on everything that's happened to SAFC since they did 6 in a row.
  9. Most new managers get improved results (apart from Pardew at West Brom) in the short term. The players usually try to impress the new boss. Southampton appointing Hughes to the end of the season is a low risk for them considering their fans considered the club certain for relegation. If Hughes doesn't improve them and they get relegated they'll not keep him. If Hughes keeps them up they still don't have to award him a longer contract if they think they can get a better manager in the Summer.
  10. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43203679 "Michael Carrick: Manchester United midfielder to retire at end of season" At least that means certain members of our support can now stop suggesting he comes 'home' to play for NUFC.
  11. He's playing with a knee and groin injury. Hopefully they won't need an operation. If they do I'd rather he didn't go to the world cup as the operations would be put off.
  12. I was asking on the previous page if he'd become more clinical with his finishing or was he getting loads of chances. He's still missing open goals then?
  13. He's getting on the end of chances, that's half the job tbh. He wasn't doing it enough in his first season here. Yes but I was wondering if Fulham were creating numerous chances for him and he was still squandering a few or is he now taking the chances which come his way?
  14. Is he getting loads of chances or is he being clinical?
  15. Watch the whole of the stand behind the keeper stand up in protest when he blatantly handles outside the area.
  16. The video of him handling outside the area is great. Total WTF moment. Look in here: - https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/losers-v-qpr-match-thread.1421812/page-37
  17. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/43264055 What next? Everton fans should be careful what they wish for?
  18. https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/rafa-benitez-hits-back-aleksandar-14391055 Posted in the Rafa thread but worth posting here too.
  19. That Craig Johns journalist is optimistic with his predictions: - QPR (Away) - Prediction: Draw Preston (Home) - Prediction: Win Derby (Away) - Prediction: Win Sheffield Wednesday (Home) - Prediction: Win Leeds (Away) - Prediction: Loss Norwich (Home) - Prediction: Draw Reading (Away) - Prediction: Loss Burton (Home) - Prediction: Win Fulham (Away) - Prediction: Loss Wolves (Home) - Prediction: Loss https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/hope-gone-sunderland-points-avoid-14380079
  20. I presume "thorough bread" was a bad auto correction of "thoroughbred"?
  21. Joselu isn't even getting a start at the moment. Rafa obviously doesn't rate any of our strikers highly or he wouldn't keep rotating through Joselu, Perez and Gayle. He's picked Gayle over the last few games. If Slimani gets fit I'd imagine he'll start. Mitro getting goals in the Championship doesn't guarantee he'd get them in the Premiership (especially considering Fulham are an attacking team near the top of the Championship table and we are a counter attacking team near the bottom of the Premiership table). You may as well argue Armstrong's performances at Blackburn in League 1 mean he'd do a better job than some of our strikers in the Premiership. It's pure conjecture.
  22. The better he does the more NUFC can demand for him if we want to sell. It's a win win.
  23. And Joselu wouldn't even score in the Championship, can't hit a barn door. Prove it. Mitro couldn't hit a barn door for us. His costly misses were an unfortunate trait.
