  1. So has Krul played for Brighton in the Premiership yet? Is he 1st choice, 2nd choice on the bench or 3rd choice not in the match squad? I've not checked.
  2. I'm sure I read they are currently filming a follow up to that "Premier passions" TV programme at SAFC. That's going to be a must watch if it ever makes it to TV.
  3. Whoever gets dropped, the alternatives aren't exactly dead certainties for goals. Joselu, Mitro and Perez are infrequent goal scorers. Gayle hasn't been anything like the same player since his injury last season. We're a workman like side due to the team personnel.
  4. Rafa didn't buy Shelvey (for NUFC). HBA has ended up in dispute with every team he's played for (apart from Nice where he probably didn't stay long enough to fall out with management).
  5. HBA is one of the last players Rafa would ever consider buying. Works hard for the team? No. Good attitude? No. Works hard in training? Apparently not. Let it go guys.
  6. Which end were we attacking in the first half? Hopefully not the Gallowgate end as I'm more confident of us doing better in the second half if we're going that way.
  7. Well maybe he should stop singing non stop and concentrate on his football. This isn't 'The X-Factor'.
  8. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Richard Branson knows fuck all about football and cares even less. I worked at Northern Rock when Virgin Money took over. Virgin Money became the NUFC shirt sponsor. We beat Man U 3 - 0 in our first game with the new sponsor. Branson turned up to the Head Office. He kept referring to "Newcastle beating Manchester United three love". He wasn't being funny by saying "love". It was pure cringe. Virgin Money now do a Manchester United savings account. Branson is a carpet bagger. He goes into companies, buys them, calls them Virgin something then sells them. Companies pay a franchise fee to use the Virgin brand name. Branson does not own Virgin Media, Virgin Money, Virgin Trains, etc. Those companies pay to use the Virgin brand name. He bought the F1 Manor Grand Prix team, called it Virgin Racing, did shit then sold it on.
  9. Aarons has been mediocre at best in the two under 23s games I've seen. That's probably why he isn't getting into the first team.
  10. Yes but if you take into account what owning NUFC did for Ashley and SD then its more than profitable. Imagine if Ashley had of run us more successfully, ie no relegations and top 10 finishes, maybe the occasional top 5 finish. his brand and coverage would have been worth much more. I thin that's what you sell. That's why I think the £200m 'fair' price is bollocks. The untapped potential of NUFC makes it worth loads more, especially after taking the TV income into account. Mike Ashley has run the club without maximising the income possibilities. My reason for posting the profit and loss articles was to show most Premiership clubs either make a tiny profit or losses. I think any potential buyer of NUFC who has the idea of running it at a profit is to be feared.
  11. According to this article only a couple of Premiership clubs made a big profit last year, a few made a profit of around £3m and over a third made losses. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/jun/01/premier-league-finances-club-by-club The year before for information. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/may/25/premier-league-finances-club-by-club-breakdown-david-conn
  12. That's true but if asset strippers bought NUFC for £200m they could sell all the assets, pocket the TV money then they'd have made more than the £200m it cost to buy.
  13. Strange how the 'expert' mentioned in that article doesn't really take the actual TV income figures (which is at least £100m every year a club stays in the Premiership) in to account when valuing the club. If NUFC was priced at £200m there would be a stampede of potential buyers. £200m is less than 2 years TV income.
  14. Rafa really didn't want to play Mbemba last season: - http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/jamaal-lascelles-opens-up-pain-13736282
  15. If any of the groups looking to buy are serious you'd think they'd want to get it done in time for the January transfer window. A new owner would hopefully want to provide a transfer fund which could go to strengthening the squad to increase our chances of staying in the Premiership. There'd be no point taking over in February or later if there was a chance NUFC could be relegated.
  16. So you think that's Rafa 100% blaming Elliot for the goal? More like every member of the team who could have done something better. Every goal scored can be blamed on someone.
  17. Maybe people should study every goal conceded by 'World Class Goalkeepers' and see if they were faultless in every case.
  18. Love the "insert a different goalkeeper name here* would definitely have saved that" comments. How exactly does anyone "know" that? You may think it but you don't know it.
  19. I'd like to see more of him, not sure why he doesn't seem to be getting a look in. It is a bit strange. Even watching him in the warmup his ability is streets ahead of most of our players. In the last two under 23s games he's played in he hasn't impressed.
  20. Has anyone ever not been banned after being charged by the FA? I'd be amazed if he wasn't banned now they've reviewed it.
